What's the difference between an SA and a CA ? Please can anybody tell me?

I swear I'm going to start that thread just to see what people would say.

Or maybe this one:

Is the 335i as fast as an M3 ?

Or this:

Procede versus Turbo Tuner

Edit: I almost forgot my favorite... "my fuel pump just died"

I think these 2 have a valid point. I just did a for toast and toaster and would have needed to go through a lot of fluff before I found out what setting the toaster should be set at to get that nice golden color that denotes the perfect slice of toast.

Yawn. A list of most annoying questions and answers has been posted before.

It has all been done before. Maybe we should just close shop and all go home.

The most frustrating thing about searching - you find loads of threads with your question in them, with a pile of "SEARCH!!!" responses, but no actual *answers*.....

You know what would be fun? Something I've always wanted to do is iconify http://www.justfuckinggoogleit.com/ into something and insert it. That way you really make a statement. Why just settle on telling people to search when you can really rub it in

That idea seems more and more valid everyday. After 2 + years and sheer amount of data posted, outside of information around yet to be built vehicles, there is very little if any new information to be shared on the existing E9X family. Just about anything needs to know about these cars is buried somewhere in the fourm, you just have to search to find it.

The biggest issue with this forum is the juvenile mindset and actions of alot of the new members who join and it's about a 2-3 drop in IQ points away from being no better than a ricer forum.

I agree totally that the search button is your friend. However, what I don't like is when someone thrashes a brand new member on his first or second post. It's easy to suggest using the search button for a new member, while still being cool about it. A lot of members do a good job with this, a lot are just plain dicks.

Sometimes it can be a pain in the ass to do a full blown search. I wanted a specific question regarding the riss down pipes answered, but instead of creating a new thread I had to go through 35 pages and a ton of info. Sure I found the answer to my question, but it took me 3 hours to get it.

Sometimes it's good seeing an old topic revisited, since there might be a lot of new opinions and experiences. Now on the other hand, asking "what is a procede" or "how do I change my oil" is just a waste of time. My 02.

By the way "fng" stands for "f***ing new guy".

My doctor told me I had 6 months to live. When I told him I couldn't pay his bill, he gave me another 6 months.

Although i do agree that people should search to find answers, but often times...when i search, i see like a billion threads that do not actually answer what i'm looking for...

and besides, everything that someone is looking for is on this site, it's just a matter of how much time do you want to spend looking through past responses to get that answer.

then this would not be an active forum anymore, and it will become another Wikipedia.

I concur, and those are the people who Im usually pretty good about giving information to.

Its the people who have 100+ posts that I give the to. They should know better at that point. Im really not an ass(ok sometimes), but people have to take into consideration who its being told to.

I stopped looking for the answer because there were too many posts to go through....I decided to have a Kaiser roll instead.

Totally agreed. A formalized knowledgebase would be awesome and add so much value to the site. I worked on integrating a knowledgebase solution to an enterprise helpdesk about 4 years ago. It took tribal knowledge, network shares, document repositories, and various other media and put it all into a cohesive structure. Reps could then ask the knowledgebase questions and the answers would "magically" appear. Not saying this is the right path in this particular instance, but it definitely is a problem with just about any system that contains pliable data such as this does.

but then again this is

I agree that the search function does not offer the greatest results, but some of the new threads are borderline idiotic.

You are also right, that if everyone searched, activity and participation will deplete. I guess what we have are noobs seeking the help of others that can identify key words.

How about these key words(and Im not directing this at you so dont bite my head off) - Read Your Fucking Owners Manual. There, that will shave a lot of time and actually make some idiots informative to other idiots.
