Looks like the Lotus Evora to me! It's the best looking Corvette in several dacades. The current one is ugly IMO. This is a good start for GM! It's much overdue.

The corvette still doesnt do it for me...I understand its all functional, but there is a lot going on all over that car. Itll perform but aesthetically I'm not a fan.
But then again corvettes have never done it for me. |

If they had made it with the body lines of the Fisker Destino (4 door/4 seat ZR1 basically with a fisker modified body) concept I would be all over it like white on rice, of course with only two doors for the vette. Too many vents and edges on the C7 for my liking. And my hopes of them moving away from leaf springs has been dashed. It is edgy, and I am really over the edgy look. I want something sleek that looks like it came out of a wind tunnel and not out of a fast and furious vent and louver shop.

Old men with gold chains need the fast & furious look these days to go with their Viagra. Smooth lines don't attract the attention of the ladies these days.

What ladies? Any "woman" who is genuinly attracted to this type of car, I would go check the birth certificate, I mean the masculine/feminine box.

+1, I have to agree. I want to love it, but it just doesn't do it for me. This is where design-by-commitee shows its faults; there are scoops and and tail pipes and odd styling angles all over the place. I'm sure I'll need to see it in person before I can really discount anything, but for now, how do I express why I can't get into the look? ....

^ I think that pic of rear is a bit unflattering. The one in red looks a lot better. I am overall liking the new Vette. It looks a lot better then the last one and the one before it and the one before it. Also, the interior looks milestones better.
The steering wheel design is a bit off but other then that in pics it is looking good. I would have to say it will be on my list of cars to compare before I buy again.

I really can't make my mind up on the new C7.
The tech going into it is really impressive but some of the styling just doesn't quite sit with me. I think it's the rear end that's bugging me - needs some softer lines (it's too square at the moment). The camaro tail lights seem wrong...it's a Corvette not a Camaro Mr Designer! I totally agree the styling is a mismatch of various cars - Ferrari 458, Maserati GranTurismo, Nissan GTR, and Stingrays of old. I am really liking the interior. It's got a Toyota Supra cockpit feel mixed with Euro leather and Lambo style LCD panels. With a few tweaks it could be a truly great car. 8/10 from me. |

I'll have to go to the NY autoshow and see one in person. It will either be impressive (for a corvette) or look like a lot of flashy plastic for old men trying to be young. The cheap interior has always been the huge failure so it will be interesting to see if GM does anything there.

If the C7 was somehow snuck out with a Roundel on it instead of a Bowtie, all the fanbois on this site would be drooling all over this car. None of you have the balls or the skills to get even 6/10ths the performance out of it that it is capable of. When BMW builds a 3,100 pound, 450 HP sports car for $55K - $60K, then call me because I'll then know hell has indeed frozen over and I’ll need to pack my hockey skates for the trip.

I love vettes, my dad currently has a 427 Z06 Convertible and it is a beauty.
The new C7 just has way too much going on, especially some negative aspects of the rear. 1) I don't know who on earth thought 4 exhaust tips in a row looks better than the spaced out grouping of 2+2, but it looks so stupid. 2) Why the EFF is the black diffuser so massive?!?! It should come up half as high as it does. 3) Tail light idea is cool but it is already on the camaro. So that was another dumb move I think. They should have had this new design saved for the next gen camaro, and tried some type of progression of what the C6 had in the rear. This vette could have been a lot classier looking IMO. It looks like a clusterfuck honestly, and as someone posted earlier, Ferrari did it right aerodynamically AND aesthetically. The vette may have great aerodynamics, but it doesn't look clean. In black it will be badass though, the vents will not be as pronounced and that massive diffuser will not be noticeable. |
