That's potentially a lot of car for not a lot of money.
But half that commercial was probably optional extras; we'll have to wait and see. The guy driving that thing is pretty terrible - I initially thought he was trying to hit the wolf, then he almost rear-ended a truck. I don't like the front grille or the shape of the headlights... looks like a weird glaring face or something. |

CLS design is just beautiful but the CLA seems a bit off in the proportions. Especially in the Bonnet length to body ratio, it looks kind of like those japanese minivans.

this car is going to kill the lower segment car sales I would think. Someone looking at 30k and under that usually would get like a vw jetta/passat or something is going to die for this.

Its a trap. It's gonna cost the same to maintain than any other Benz, yet it cost low enough that people that can't really afford it may think they can stretch the extra leg over a Jetta and get shafted when the warranty ends
I was like "sound like a nice package for my wife", then thought better. |

Probably over $45k after you throw in AWD and the options you would most likely want...

It won't. It'll get the same engine as the A45 AMG since they're basically the same car with one version being a hatcback and the other a 4-door coupé.

Hopefully the infotainment is well executed and modern
3 MB sales people couldn't figure out how to get my iPhone 4S to stream music via bluetooth to a 2011 C300 w/ multimedia package, and the AUX port was uselessly located in the glovebox. If lease rates are good on the CLA45 AMG version this could be a contender when it's time for a new 4 door in October! |

NO much info on the website either. i think a loaded car will be in the high 30s with cla45s in the mid to high 40s. looks good so far, but need to see and drive the car in flesh.
it's getting hot in the car market. new 4 series, CLA, Corvette C7, 991, M4. I know it ranges from 30k to 140k - but there are a lot of good cars out there. |

Hahahaha, yeah I probably can come up with 10 more super nice cars in that price range. Now let's do it for $30K-$35K range... not too many, especially if you like premium germans - 128i, 320i, CLA and maybe A4... that's it.

Well, the impending A3 sedan, which is probably the closest competitor the CLA will have in the US.

in the 30-40k range i would have to agree with what you mentioned plus i would like to add the Acura tsx and ilx. That's why a lot of time i feel like if i had to chose something in the 30-40k range, i might as well pony-up 10k more and move a little more up market. |

If you want a RWD luxury car: go German
If you want a FWD luxury car: go Acura or Cadillac (well XTS anyway) If you want a luxury FWD German car: go Audi Not sure what the point here is. |
