Almost 11,000 views and only 25 responses? Pretty weird haha.
Well she's torn between a '13 A4 and a '13 TSX now. Little over $30k but oh well. She'll probably end up with a lightly used '13 A4 with like 5-10k miles.

If you can get her passed the maintained aspect I think the 328 would be a superb car for her. If not I think you can't go wrong with a camary, fusion, or the Mazda 6. She could also do another Acura if she really likes her current one. If the kids are small squeeze them in a mustang so she can have fun on the way to the grocery store

To be frank, E90 328xi/335i should come up at about $25k USD, a new Audi A3 MT is about that...

I'm a bit worried about it weighing 3,000 pounds and only having 150 HP, but oh well she's not a car person by any extent. Her complaint with the Accord was "the brakes are too touchy"... She doesn't understand how bad her brakes on her RSX were, and when I drive it I have to pound my foot on it to stop. She's one tough person to help shop for...

The power in the ILX is great. Same engine as the one in the TSX but with less weight. Just be careful about the cabin noise though. Those things are surprisingly noisy, especially compared to the TSX. I was a fan of the ILX too, until I drove one. TSX is definitely a better buy out of the two Acuras if she is at all concerned about refinement.

One thing not listed is either the Nissan Juke or Nissan Rogue. Those are both really nice, and will do what you want. Also the new Altima is supposed to be pretty nice too, but I haven't sat in one yet.

I also second the notion of the Elantra. My girlfriend has an accord, and I think the elantra offers more for the same money, or the same for less money (however you want to look at it).
You would avoid anything Audi but recommend Juke and Elantra??

13 Kia Optima SX lot a car for the money and awesome warranty. Fully loaded is like 28K, but if you don't need the 270hp version you can get it loaded for under 25 easy. Plus it's about the best looking in it's class.

Oh and carsdirect.com will let you build and price any car you want so you can have a bargaining chip when you head to the dealer or you can buy it from them. I've bought two new cars from them and it's the easiest car buying experience I've ever had.

She ended up getting a new black 2013 Acura TSX 2 weeks ago or so. Very nice car. It ended up coming down between a new Accord and a new TSX, and the TSX won in almost every category (but it's $5k more or so).

If her Acura dealership is anything like the one I have used for the past 12 years she will be very happy to have stepped up to that. I have a Merc, BMW, Acura and VW. No dealership comes close to the Acura dealership. I get a free loaner on all services, free drinks (coffee, soda, juice, water) on any visits and more. I hope she enjoys the car.
