Nissan has same issue. Problem is that Chevy and Nissan dealers have too many low income buyers coming through who like to test drive but are really there for a cheap mid size. They really should just put those cars through their premium channels (Infiniti and Cadillac) to solve this problem.

Subaru denied me a test drive in a BRZ. I showed up in my GT500, clearly a more expensive car, they said it was policy.
I just thought it was odd how someone could buy a car they'd never driven and I was actually considering one as a DD at the time.

I've bought three cars without ever driving them first, and I'll do the same with the 435i (don't care to even drive an F30 to gauge it). If the decision has already been made, a 20 minute drive with a salesman next to me won't reveal any glaring surprises to stop me from buying the car.
