I used to play off and on. I have a friend who got hooked and ended up dropping about 7 bills on the game. I bailed when I saw that. They definitely designed a very addictive game, fun too, but addictive. It was most fun she I forgot about rank/trophies and made my attacking all about just getting resources, drop down and steal from the easier people.

I dropped $20 to get all the builders. I'm currently level 76. I began playing mid November. Almost a fully maxed out TH8.

This is the first game where level means nothing. Trophy count, however, is everything. It tells about your defense and offense. High level just allows you to buy useless deco items.

I purposely keep trophies low simply because it is MUCH easier to farm for resources. Going high trophy creates a more stagnant economy and it is much harder to get high amounts of loot. I was up at 2600 range and dropped down to 1500 because of how difficult it was to farm.

Nothing is cheaper than 4-5mil to upgrade and nothing takes less than 10 days... lol. It gets really intense the later game you go... but also rewarding.

If your clans aren't that large you guys can join mine.
Good mix of lowbies and veterans that donate ridiculous amounts of high level troops.

Level 74, town hall 8 (trying to max), recently broke down and spent $20 to get 4th and 5th builders.

I make it a point not to spend $ on F2P games so i can see how far i can go. Just started a week ago because of this thread; am on lvl 14 with 260 trophies. Hoping to get that 3rd builder soon.

I am an Elder with the Duck Quest clan. Try and raid one of us. I'm level 54 with 1700 trophies.

We donate dragons to each other, you don't want to have to defend that.

SUPERCELL built the game to thrive from in-app purchases. I was reading up on them, and they make a RIDICULOUS amount of money per day from this game alone. It almost forces you to buy gems to get builders and thrive, I am intrigued by their ingenious yet greedy business practice.

Also, attacking against dragons is easy

If you avoid their AoE, you can kill them with just 10 level 6 archers. (lvl 2 dragon or below, lvl 3+ dragons need about 15-20)

That's fine. I find that for a lot of these types of games, i'll plateau at some point where no matter how strong my base is or tactically sound my attacking is, i will not win because of the spenders. At that point i'll just quit and find another game to play.

That's kinda what I am thinking. I wont be putting any more money into it, $15 is my limit.

There is a Chinese international student at the college I went to, and hung out a few times with, who spent $3000 on the game. I think his rank is 24 (the one with the Chinese letters).

This was already mentioned in the thread...but you guys who are addicted to Clash of Clans should definitely check out Dungeon Keeper.

Blows Clash of Clans completely out of the water but it is a lot more time consuming whereas Clash is the type of game you can get away with squeezing in 5 - 10 minutes a day without missing anything. Still, don't miss Dungeon Keeper. Beautiful remake of a classic
