Right before going out of coverage I had literally everything on the maint package replaced. Was a great value. The maint program offered a substantial savings to maintenance to the owner. Without it makes the car more expensive to own and given that value per dollar spent is lower now, no doubt folks will certainly consider other brands when looking for a new car.

Still, won't matter to folks who just want the BMW badge.

Please explain. You can't just walk into the dealer and say, "hey I need this, that, and the other thing replaced." With the exception of a few things that are purely time based, the maintenance plan covers service as needed based on the indication of the Condition Based Service system.

Good riddance BMW. As someone who's owned 3 BMW's; the maintenance plan was a huge selling point.

With the substandard releases of late (M included). My current car will be the last BMW. Forget references going forward.

If your ridding yourself of BMW because this maintenance take away and going to a brand that has a better one, please remember your choices are limited on where else to get a free maintenance program that is better than even the reduced BMW program. Going from your M to, say a Jag, Cadillac, Hyundai or certain Kia models will be a transforming experience for sure. Have fun the that. Please report back and let us know how it went.

What can I say, I had a great SA who took care of me and made sure I had a vehicle in nearly factory new condition when both my Maintenance and Warranty programs expired. He took advantage of all programs offered by BMW to do this. Without them I would have been out hundreds of dollars for many items which (in both mine and his opinions) shouldn't have needed such early maintenance/replacement.

Happy to own my BMW. I'm likely to buy another, but be sure it won't be a newer model, especially given the direction BMW is moving both in corporate and automotive design philosophies.

Wow, what model is that outrageous quote for? I recently replaced the front and rear pads, rotors, and sensors on my 135 for $1100. Good thing I can do the work myself because that labor rate is ridiculous. Plus, it shouldn't take over two hours to replace the front brakes especially when a lift is being used.

Have you driven Caddy's lately? The CTS models and V are more fun than the BMW offerings of late.

Jag is getting to the promised land slowly but steadily. Last I checked BMW was not even included in the C/D Best 10 list.

We all have to accept BMW is no longer the same company it used to be.

No it's not. Mercedes has its own issues and they're even worse when it comes to dealer servicing. Some dealers won't even give you a loaner if you didn't buy your Benz from that dealer. Imagine buying a car from a diff state Bc they offered a good deal and then being left w a ton of inconvenience when you have to take your car in for servicing which for Benz's is fairly often.

In fairness this can happen at BMW dealers, too. How dealers run their loaner program is up to the individual dealer.

I went to BMW just before my 4 year maintenance was up on my old M3 and had them flush the brakes and coolant as per their guidelines. This revision will only cover one brake fluid flush and no coolant flushes.

Yeah, isn't it great? BMW has their best year ever and in response to that, they decide to cut the maintenance plan to 3 years/36K miles, and drop coverage for brakes and clutch!! Way to go BMW!! Greedy fucks. That's real customer appreciation!!
