Back when I worked for the government, I was in Bosnia in the 1990's and traded a pair of jeans for this bad boy (attached) - not something that everyone has around the house in the USA.

Um, because Ruger?

Bleh - Ruger is the KIA of guns. They work just fine, but after all is said and done, you're still holding a Ruger. Other than the 10/22, most of their stuff is just 'meh'.
Having what you said in mind, I’d pick one up for the fun factor definitely! I see Buds has one for $739 which is cheaper than I thought it would be now a days. Good luck.

Awesome! I don't have a Socom yet, have a few SilencerCos and a couple Sig suppressors. Curious how you like the Socom...

Yeah I would not say i have any problems switching mags for that gun. I think I have eight mags and two of those are FN with the others an off brand. They all work well. Back when I first bought it I grabbed two mag connectors so a pair sit on top with 100 rounds on tap. You have to flip the mags when the first when goes dry but that is a lot of shooting.

My great grandfather and grandfather both worked at Remington arms. Pretty sad. I have plenty of Remington firearms.

Put the RMR and Forward Controls MOS plate on the G17, so I ordered some Trijicon Supressor Sights. I chose the green Tritium and white outline both front and rear.

Next mod/addition for this firearm will likely be either a SureFire X300U weapon light, or I'll send it down to Johnnyglocks.com for his custom trigger. It kinda depends on what I do first... buy a new holster that will accommodate the light; or I go a couple weeks without the pistol. We'll see.

Going a few weeks without the pistol would be sad, but I know you have others to keep you company.

Nah, but it does add about a pound of 'Merica to the end of the barrel. A mk18 is around 6-7lb with light/optic and a loaded mag.

I have a carbine class Saturday so I wanted to confirm the zero on my rifle; plus I have that new RMR-equipped G17 that needed to be zeroed, so I hit the 50yd range today. The 50yd range doesn't usually get as busy as the 25yd range, but I've never seen it so quiet. Just me and one other guy. It was actually really nice.

I put 100 rounds through the Glock at a 15yd zero, and 50 through the rifle at a 50yd zero. Both performed perfectly.

Can't believe anyone is out shooting much when there's no ammo around or at least not at plinking prices. I haven't shot this year. Stocked up on ammo the past 4, but I'm in no hurry to burn through it unless Trump gets re-elected. Otherwise I'm sure it'll be another two years again until any kind of normal is back, if ever, like when obama got re-elected.
