I was a light on/off smoker from my teens to my early 30s. Never more than a half pack a day and I'd often go months without smoking. Then I got into a relationship with a 2 pack a day menthol smoker. That's when I hit the wall as far as being able to tolerate smoke.

I made my wife quit smoking. She hated me for a long time.

I felt like a hero.

We're still together, almost 47 years now. Might not've been.

Probably just feeling guilty for smoking all those years. lol
I smoked a pack a day during my last 12 months in the Army. I was in Vietnam and tobacco was free.

I quit the day I landed back on US soil and never looked back. I dropped my cigarettes and Zippo lighter into a trash container at San Francisco International airport and that was that. Over and out.

I was driving one day when it came over the radio that cigarettes were going up to $2.50 a pack. I took a half pack off the dash, looked at them and thought "You're not worth $2.50 a pack." and threw them out the window. I've probably had less than ten since. Don't miss them a bit.

yup. 3, 6 & 12. Due to distance and mountains, 3 & 12 had ghosts.

So, you're also old if you know what TV antenna reception ghosts are.

And trying to adjust the rabbit ears but as soon as you touch them you become part of the antenna and the ghosts disappear... until you let go of the antenna.

I lived a privileged childhood. We had an antenna rotor, and could watch TV from both Buffalo *and* Toronto. I think there was also a station in Hamilton, which I remember because they aired a Friday night curling league.....

When did the granola cartel invade Raisin Bran? Unless I'm going senile in my old age, I remember it being cereal flakes and raisins...not some Oregon/Washington granola-eater abomination mixed with the flakes and raisins! I thought that it was a dispenser loading error at the first hotel's breakfast bar, but a second hotel had the same mix.....

As far as I know, they still have the original Raisin Bran. Another company makes one with Granola. My dad used to eat it. I can't think of the name right now. Be back later when it comes to me.

It looks like Post makes a Raisin Bran Crunch now.

I was at a friend's house last night to set up some computer stuff. His 18 y.o. son was moving his 24" flat panel monitor and it struck me that this kid has no idea how difficult it used to be to move 21" CRTs. You practically needed a two-wheeled dolly to move them any distance.

The struggle is real. It happens more than I care to admit.
Sometimes it takes a few minutes to come to me, and others it could be hours or days. I refuse to google if the answer can be found there.

The worst part is the answer has come to me in the middle of the night. I wake up when the light bulb goes off. Only to not remember again when I get up in the morning. WTF???
