...Or you lost a piece of your fingertip trying to pry the lever up with a kitchen utensil. True story, and I've got the scar to prove it.....

The info about this being Marilyn on that site is incorrect. This is indeed Theda. The pic is a publicity promo for the movie Cleopatra which was shot in 1917. She was quite the "vamp" (anyone remember this term?) for her day. Grrr! I would certainly "come hither"...and "thither" and "yon" to boot!

Nor testing to see: is the water frozen all the way through, or do you need to wait another 10 minutes to have a solid cube. Nope, just walk up to the fridge, press your glass against the lever and out comes . . . wtf? DAAAAD, the ice is broken!!!!!

Exactly!
....and you actually talk to the birds landing on the fence next to your bird fountain while they wait for you to refill it. wait, there's more: ....and you get excited to see a new bird so you identify it on Merlin or Google images and add that new bird to your list of birds you can identify, only to forget and look it up again next time it comes to visit. |

When I was a kid we used to make popsicles in the ice cube trays. Just pour orange juice or kool-aid in the tray. Cover the tray with plastic wrap so you could stick a toothpick through the wrap (so the toothpick would stand up) in the center of each section and freeze overnight. Was a nice treat in the summertime.

On the way back towards the house, I usually say a few words to the avocado tree, touch some plants in the garden, then give the wife a smack on the lips (or butt, depending on which way she is looking)

...when you used to help grandma wring water out of the washed clothes using a wringer attached to the top of the washing machine.
