And someone on another forum this week was disparaging the 24-105 as a landscape lens because of the "horrible distortion." Um....yeah. Ok.

It was pushing 100 here so I headed to the coast at Point Reyes. There usually isn't much bird action at the height of summer, but I managed to grab a few including this harrier that surprised me doing a high speed fly by. The 7D (now listed as discontinued on Amazon) and the 100-400 did a pretty decent job.

Discontinuing the 7D is huge. They haven't done that without introducing the replacement since I can remember. I'd hate it if they gave up on the semi-pro crop-sensor, action camera segment. I'd buy a 7D MkII in a flash, assuming it gained improved AF and a little better sensor.

Great harrier shot. I haven't seen one in months.

The discontinuance of the 7D, if not followed soon by the announcement of a 7D MkII, may drive up used 7D prices nicely.
