Thanks. Yeah I got lucky with the sky, nothing quite like a secluded beach on a cold clear night.

Todays sky!
Today i realised that the out of camera jpegs sometimes is exactly what you want. Shot these images Raw+Jpeg with Velvia film mode (this increases saturation and darkens shadows basically). Both of these are out of camera with a slight increase in clarity in Lightroom only.
First shot is a 90second exposure using the B+W 10stop filter

Did you use the filter on the first one to smear the clouds? Dave

thanks dave, do you mean a post process filter? if yes, then no, i used the b+w ND filter wich let me take a 90 second exposure, smearing the clouds. also the colors are that of the in camera, called Velvia. (like the film)

I have several Velvia filters, but they're in DxO's FilmPack. It really does saturate. When I look back at old Velvia slides, they really did saturate that much. Dave

Haha, I can see what you mean... Is that good or bad?
Here's another from the set. Above was with no GND filters, below is with GND filters. In both cases there was a CPL and 2 stop ND screw-in filter as well. Breakthrough by ddk632, on Flickr |

Great shot, Dave. Nice to see one flying out of harm's way. I usually see them for a split second as they run out of the cornfield into the path of my car. I swear they're the most suicidal birds on the planet.

^^^Great shot, Denn.
My brother had some nice pics of that pavilion. I know it's in Central Park, but I'll be damned if I can find it.

One of the famous "scenic" roads down here, the A1A, which runs along the ocean north-south, mostly on a tiny thin strip of land with a large waterway on the other side.
This is a mid-day shot from Hollywood, Florida, which has both the open and the Intracoastal waterway in the shot. No filter mania here A1A in Hollywood Beach, Florida by ddk632, on Flickr |
