Naps are a very important part of pacing oneself.

Trying to get my dads house cleaned so my bro can move in
Crawled into the top of the garage where we put plywood to make storage. I struggled just to step over the cross beams
Home to take that nap about 1:30, with ice. Then my 15mo grand niece appears I'm way too old to chase a little girl around

Yeah Buddy, know what you mean. Our 2-1/2 year old grandson was over today. Still recovering from painting yesterday and we had agreed to a couple of days ago to watch him today. Here for the better part of six hours, Just glad he took a nap for a couple of hours so that I could get one in also. Still though, enjoyed him being here, especially for grandma.

Wait till she gets older, they seem to find more energy.

"I've used a PC my whole life and now I have to use a Mac at work."

When I read shit like this on Reddit I think, "Wow, your whole life." I lived the first 25 years of my life without messing with any computer other than a bit of tinkering with a terminal in high school. And I was into my mid-thirties before a computer became more than a game console for me. Granted, in the thirty years since then a computer has been a major part of my life. But thinking back to the days before personal computers and cell phones and the internet seems like an eternity. And there are people raising kids now who have never known a time when they didn't have cell phones and computers.

I was talking to my nephew tonight and mentioned that I haven't heard from my brother since Thursday and I've been a bit concerned (my brother is mid-50s). Yet in the years I lived overseas, I would go months or even a full year without seeing or having a conversation with my brother. It just wasn't an easy thing to do and it was just the way things were. It struck me that cell phones and the internet have tied us to friends and family in ways that aren't always beneficial. But these ties are entirely normal for most folks under 40 now.

When you're waiting in admitting, fasted and cleaned out, for your video to be shot

I get the honor of doing that next month. Yay.

Was just reading that Ryan Reynolds did it and they found and removed a polyp. His doctor said that this potentially could have saved his life. Definitely worth doing.

I'm talking about a colonoscopy. You guys are too, right?

My folks had a 1958 VW microbus gutless wonder. 36 HP.

My dad's TV store had a 1961 Ford Econoline, also with a gutless 170 cu. in. straight 6.

All 3 of the above were a handful to drive in crosswinds, not to mention they started slowing down when in sight of a grade.

They took my lucky polyp out, still no word on biopsy.

APPARENTLY I convinced my wife, after the procedure, that we should travel up the coast to Chumash casino. That afternoon I also lost my a$$ . . .

Saturday night (still had my lucky polyp) I played almost 5 hours of 3 card poker at Pechanga: +$11.

They take it out, I go to Chumash, and I lose 900 PLUS, had to buy gas at the casino since the wife was on fumes as we arrive: 6.45 for regular

Was she on fumes, or fuming? Slight difference here.

You know you're old when...

You're leaving 3 tracks.

FML - I turned my head to look for oncoming traffic while merging onto the bridge Wednesday morning and I pulled a muscle in my neck that goes down into my back. Holy shit, it hurts. How the hell do you pull a muscle by turning your head? I must have been sitting crooked or something.

Happy Friday all!
