Yea both were at 1.4.

It's hard to compare with the 50L. 35L does have some pretty crazy chromatic aberration though. It's also made of plastic and has no weather sealing. The 50L on the other hand, is metal and has weather sealing.

The main reason I picked up the 35L is for video, but it's turning out to be quite a nice walk around lens for me.
