Cool shot, David.
That's some serious snow, Rem. I finally got to grab some BIF shots at Ormond Beach, just north of Daytona today. Pelicans of Ormond Beach, FL by Mark J Photography, on Flickr

Last night on the road. This is the view from our hotel room in Nashville. It's The Parthenon in Centennial Park. Shot with the 5D MkIII and the Sigma 120-300.

Thanks, Ed. My tripod is in the car, so I just set the rig on a small table and used the 2-sec timer. The Sigma does *not* like the stab turned on when the rig is on a table or tripod. I kept getting fuzzy images until I killed the stabilization.

I came home today after playing with the 1.4 mounted on the new zoom, and the half moon was shining right over my driveway, which means I am obligated to take yet another moon shot. The autofocus, while center point only and limited to f8 with this combination is still quite good. I am going to sell my 400 5.6 prime as it is totally redundant now. The image quality of the zoom is on par with the prime, and the IS is excellent making it a no brainer. The waxing gibbous at 560mm (on the 1DIV)

ISO 3200 with the 7D2. (I see lots of noise in the Raw file, but it cleans up really nicely):

Thanks Dave. Yes,it was handheld. No lens optimization because they don't have a profile for this lens yet in Lightroom.

I've added it to my wish list, sometime after I get my 500/f4-SII.

Seriously, I may give that a whirl, but I still have a few hundred other files I am working on from my last few outings, and I am thinking of heading out to a park today (after the fog burns off and I finish my coffee). |

If DLO does anything useful, you'd think that you'd be able to see it on a tele-zoom. BTW, the new DPP did actually come into the 21st century with its new UI. When I first got the 7D2, I used it to convert the Raw files and it did a good job, just really slow.
