I prefer Black Sapphire to Jet Black because of the flakes, but weirdly prefer Alpine White to Mineral White for the opposite reason.

Jet Black is a pure black, glossy and reflective when clean. Black Sapphire Metallic is a metallic color, and appears more of a dark gray in the sunlight. There's basically no difference between the two in the dark. Really it comes down to what you prefer.

I prefer Jet Black. I owned Jet Black. I will never own another one though, once was enough.
Google "BMW Jet Black Paint Correction", so many discussions about this color. (That said my wife bought "Black Mica" on her non-BMW, lots of metallic flakes, totally different color, similar to BSM. Easier to maintain, looks good, but not JB good). |

Jet Black shows scratches like mad and gets dirty in a couple days. BSM is far prettier and easier to live with.
I could tell which was which from the photos. Jet Black has a deeper shine. |
