Wonder how much the cost to have it installed is in terms of labor.

$450 is a ripoff anyways.

So they took what they put in the current F56 MINI and made it available for everyone!

It works with any more or less new bmw, from e87 to f15. Got this about two months ago. The worst thing about it is how it looks: you need to spend the same price to fit it in your dashboard perfectly.
Do you have the F15? I'm thinking of buying this for the F15

Nope. That photo was made on f10. Doesn't matter what car you have, it looks like a crap, imho

Terrific idea!.. As I mentioned in a previous thread, I swore back in '99 that I would never own another car without HUD. Only took me 15+ years to find another.

It's more complicated in Mini. Technically, HUD in Mini is the same as in BMW (big ECU behind instrument cluster). The only one difference: it uses its own display instead of windshield in BMW.

Ah, but does it work with polarized oakley sunglasses?

(Still so annoyed that the HUD in my F30 is barely visible if I wear my sunglasses, which is almost 100% of the time, so I have the HUD turned off.)

Can I add it to my F32 so my passenger can have a HUD too?

I'm a gadget nut.
This is like crack. Looks like I'll be shelling out the $450 or whatever it is.

More stuff. But hey.
I've got integrated V1, Laser Interceptor, Galaxy Tab Pro, and this thing will be sooppp eff'n cool.

I like it and will probably get one and install it myself (what's so hard ? no coding required) - price is reasonable too - but I wish BMW had spent a bit more R&D into making customized mountings for each type of dashboard, like they do with many other accessories. You can't just slap a flat accessory onto a curved dashboard and call it a day, not per BMW standards.

Another interesting info: from pictures I noticed that the device (or part of it) is actually made by "Elebest PTE". I looked up their web site and it seems that they manufacture accessories for several car brands. I found another gadget/accessory, the "BMW Advanced Car Eye" which is actually a dashcam sold as a BMW original accessory (as you can see from the picture set which contains a picture of the box):

Garage List
Not getting msgs or data on my phone while driving is kind of a big deal isn't it? Seems like a dealbreaker. That being said... how is the map app getting data to stream to the unit? Does it download and store the maps locally on your phone for offline use?

WHAT??? You're kidding. I barely even notice my HUD these days......especially if I'm not using the M-HUD. You're seriously exaggerating.

@Artemis: Can you please post pictures from outside the car near the windscreen and the co-drivers seat please?
I would really like to see how the HUS looks like from these angles.

Many thanks!

Will the Garmin Sat Nav app on your Samsung Phone work (drive the Nav part of the display through WLAN) while not connected to 3G? Is this something you could try for us? I'd be most interested if I can use the NAV function with all kinds of data downloaded, but not if it needs constant connection via 3G (for what purpose?).
