Bingo. No need to get your panties in a twist until the official BMW announcement. (If any.)

At first I was waiting to see how the M8 looked. But now I guess I'll go 991 GT3

BMW coming to the reality that it is stretching itself too far and massive investment in i3 will take far longer than planned to give a payback due to lower sales. Can't believe they will cancel i8s given how successful i8 is and 100th anniversary coming
Dealer loaned me a 2 series active tourer (school run material) when my 1M was in for a service. It was pretty average with appalling visibility. Dead steering oh and front wheel drive - yuk. Might as well have been a Ford. |

Got rid of the stuff I like and kept the stuff I don't. couldn't be a worse set of choices.

I know this thing was all a speculation and talking but it's really annoying!
Canceling the M8? No 9 Series? No Z2 Roadster? BMW i5 lives! Who on earth gives a damn s*%# about new hybrid? added to all others retarded ideas of GT versions? a mini van? and front wheel drive 1 Series/2 Series coming? And the same excuse every time, BMW is making money to feed the M cars... I miss the olden days....

The 9 Series is the four door car that is expected to share a Carbon Core Passenger cell like the upcoming Rolls-Royce Phantom in an effort to spread the costs.
However a release date for such a car was proposed for 2018 1 year after the all new Phantom as both were also expected to share a similar plug-in hybrid using BMWs ePower turbo combining a six cylinder with electric drivetrain which is under the body of the Vision Future Luxury. Although both would be adapted for the characteristics of both brands. The Z2 is a mystery because the car shown later this year will be designated as the Z5 as BMW are going back to the roots of the Z models. The idea is to follow the X models with your standard and then the even numbers for additional Coupe so in theory Z1-Z2 just like X5-X6. The issue is that the Roadster market is in free fall. But all resources are on getting the MINI version to production. We will still see the i8 based concept in 2016. The i5 is still a car destined to continue the BMWi philosophy. Electrifying a standard drivetrain destroys the "Born Electric" strategy of BMWi where a lot of time and capital has been invested to provide something our competitors do not have an answer for. As I said the i5 will be shown as a two stage concept over the next 4 years with one dubbed Vision EfficientDynamics #2 to showcase the concept vision followed by another to showcase production similarities. Someone from BMWi has already made official comment on the arrival by 2020. Not 2018. Automobile just recently wrote a piece in regards to the next generation of 3er which was totally slanted to represent the American market view but failed to recognise global expectations and neglect opinion of models that might not work in the US but are successful for other markets.

Actually if I was to switch German brands it would definitely to MB. An e30 and e63 wagon is my perfect garage.

I looked hard and long at the BMW line up, but at the end of the day I went for the F-type Jag. Still have the F30 as a DD. Pretty sad though BMW = mainstream DD, <Another Brand> = enthusiasm |

My M235i is brilliant to drive. It's quick, it has neutral handling, it sounds amazing and it has a 6 speed manual. It's a proper BMW. Hopefully, more products like this are coming down the pipe. |

I thought about this. And I defend BMW with everything. I owned Bimmers since I have my license. But the company has really turned into a mess. way too many models, way too many niches filled. Who in their right mind buys a GT or the active tourer and thinks he is driving the ultimate driving machine. And people can talk good things about the M divison and the m235i, and yet it isn't as refined as BMW used to be. Yes, the M6 is better than the competition, but I still am not really satisfied with it. Its too heavy, rolls too much in corners... It kills in the straight, but if I want a car like that, Id buy an audi. All these FWD vans to fund the M division? So that the M division cam build more 2 ton cars? AWD? Recycled engines? Where is the halo car? Where are the moster kicks when you shift the DCT, like with the SMG? Where is the sound? BMW should build cars which compete with porsche, not mercedes and audi, which are duller. Make the 7-series compete with the panamera. The X line with cayenne and macan. The 3 and 5 series must set sport car benchmarks for sedans. Hell, BMW might sell less, but is it really all about profit? Is it not about making a point? 1,3,5,6,7 and x3,x5,x6 is all that bmw needs.
