Well, I went and looked at it.
It's 20 years old so obviously, it's got blemishes. All 4 wheels curbed, orange peel on the truck etc. The used car manager brought the car from the 2nd owner. Private party value on that exact M3 is $15,788 (Fair), $17,673 (good), $18,353 (Very Good) and $20,000 (give or take) (Excellent). Car's not in excellent condition. The used car manager most likely gave the guy around $17,000 for the M3. A UCI (used car inspection (oil change/filter and wipers) cost $250 (give or take). A detail $80 (give or take). Dealer Fees ($1500 pack etc). The total cost comes up to $18,330 ROUGLY. Per what the guy said on the phone, all that was done was an oil and filter change. They would not budge at all on that price. Wouldn't even take off the $998 "protection package". So, realistically, the price was $25k. So, a $7k markup rougly I walked out. Last edited by Mosaud1998; 02-18-2022 at 07:04 PM.. |

Wise choice, I'd want to know if rod bearings had been done as mentioned numerous times. Rear sub frame no mention, SMG Pump? Those are far from cheap. Scuffed wheels Tires look old and hard

My $.02
An M3 in Chicago area is nuts. Potholes, break in attempts, winters…..better have a beater backup. Again, just me being a hater on areas that get below 50 dgrees |

Couldn't peek under the car to check the sub-frame bushing and SMG pump has not been replaced. If we agreed to numbers, I would've gotten a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) before signing paper work if everything looked good. The tires are fairly new. Dealer didn't put them on though. |

Those wheels look worse than my exes minivan. That's a fun car. You got the extra cabbage for a fun car?

That's uselessly expensive, but I just saw you reached that decision too.
Do you have a need for finance? I'd recommend looking through chicagoland bmw facebook groups, I see them popping all the time. |

I'd only finance a car if I theres 0% interest, 0.9% or 1.9%. Can't get that on used cars Lowest would be like 3.9% on used I've never financed a car. I think I'd be stressed |

Considering my '04 M3 stickered for 56K when I bought it new, and I sold it for 32k in '07, this one sure held it's price well.

A lot to absorb here.
A lot of what you mentioned is not important, you're changing wheels and tyres anyway no? And wear marks, at those KM, i mean it is expected, that's why baby jesus invented carbon wrapping. What matters is the body and the running gear, is that in good fundamental shape? If I sound bullish it's because i've hesitated on used toy cars for 3 years and now I'm fucked 'cos prices are insane. The 1K care package is balls though, makes it hard to seal with people like that. Re. finance, can you get a HELOC or something similar? Last edited by Alfisti; 02-18-2022 at 10:18 PM.. |

I did some shopping, hate to break it to you all but it is more than fairly priced guys, the market is the market.
The only one i found in your price wheelhouse that may be better is this one....even comes with a proper gearbox and appears to be loved from the interior images. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...-6ed038b087a3/ |
