Yup, it's very frustrating and to be fair, most ppl get that zipper concept but the odd one will just make one a bit peeved. Talk about rude or clueless.

What y’all are saying is that you like roundabouts but you hate people. And you’re right. People are the worst.
It could be the name of a new Girlscout cookie. Roundabouts=good Many of the drivers in them=bad

I like seeing how fast I can enter and exit them. Went through one tonight and my wife said, "my goodness". 😎

There are 2 by my house. In rush hour traffic they are impossible to navigate. A light would be so much better.

They are loving them here in Cincinnati. Seems like they are adding them more and more here in the burbs.

I like them in theory. You need them to be common enough that people understand how to use them without thinking. I have the sole round about in the area near by house. So many people stare at it like a monkey doing a math problem. The biggest problem is the timid ones who need an invitation to enter the round about. In heavy traffic there is enough cars that they never get the size of gap they want and they just sit there.

In light traffic they are great though. No waiting at lights in the middle of the night. Most of the time you can roll right in without ever stopping.

Hate 'em because, as others have already pointed out, dumbasses out there treat it like it's a four way stop.

I appreciate this post, but not sure if it’s a dig at “Drives: really well for an Asian” in my profile. Haha.

Haha. I put it in as a joke.

Most everyone thinks they’re a good driver and we know that’s definitely not case. My dash cam inevitably holds me accountable as well.

Back North we called them traffic circles, never ever had an issue with them since getting my NYS drivers license in 1986,mostly because people knew how to navigate through them(yield to cars already in the circle) and most importantly, USED THEIR DIRECTIONALS to let other drivers waiting to enter the circle their intentions and where they're going.

Moved down South 2yrs ago and there are several "roundabouts' in Town and from what I have seen, nobody in South Carolina knows how to fucking drive through one properly. I purposely avoid them now as 9 out of 10 times I have to go through one I get cut off,or T-boned trying to exit the roundabout even though I have the right-of way. Unfucking real! People can't drive for SHIT down here smh

Ordering a dashcam so I can post some of the idiotic things I see every single day on the road here(people don't believe me half the time until they experience it themselves) and for when I can't avoid the inevitable any longer and get T-Boned I'll have video evidence

Yup. 4 way stops suck. I think it’s because of people’s spatial awareness or lack of. They’re only focused on their car coming to a complete stop they don’t notice what’s going around them before that. Once they stop, then they scan around them to see what’s going on. Within that fraction of a second, a million things could have happened.

After a close call yesterday, I think I'm going to buy a dash cam.

Some idiot in a little-penis truck was attempting to pass a long line of cars in the opposite lane (2-lane highway). I was about 5 or 6 car-lengths behind a mid-size SUV. The SUV suddenly swerved to the right shoulder, revealing the truck coming at us in our lane, and he was really hauling ass. I jerked our BMW to the right shoulder, narrowly missing the truck. It was all over in 1/2 second. I think the responsive handling of our BMW played factor in saving our bacon.

Glad you made it out of that close call. Sounds like a scary moment.

I recommend a dash cam for everyone. It’s a small price to pay that can truly save your ass.

I think that’s the issue. People are very tentative or aggressive and you don’t know which kind of driver you’re dealing with when entering or in the roundabout. Some people will sit and wait forever to get in, like some of those drivers that stop on a merge lane onto the highway and others who don’t yield to people in the roundabout.

Today I approached a roundabout when a car from the left had its right directionals on. Very nice and polite, turn and burn! Guess whether that driver actually left the circle or not.

LOL feels like you're gonna have a heart attack, every time I read your posts. Serenity now, serenity now!!!

I dunno how it is over there, but incredibly we have highway signs saying max speed of 100 kph and min speed of 60, so this means that they would be doing nothing wrong here (and actually the ppl doing 120 are, unless it's some special part of the road), even if it's not going w the flow of traffic.

If you see someone merging in, just move over one to the left. If it's only a 1 lane, adjust speed accordingly. What else can you do?

Nah i'm good i just swear a lot. I drove up your way to go see my car and i noticed the minimum signs, good idea but quebec drivers are insane anyway.

"oh there's a 7ft gap between those cars? Pk I will slide my 7ft and half inch car into that gap".... lunatics.
