A guy holding a knife while he stands beside a guy just got stabbed might seem very "clear" to you he's the murder, but a trial is still necessary. There can be so many explanations to why the guy was there holding a knife. I'm sure you get what I mean. I can accept Judge Judy yelling and all that after she's proven guilty, but I cannot accept her taking away all the rights the scammer deserves to defend herself. |

I have no rights or qualification to say if she's guilty or not and neither do any of you (assuming Judge Judy is not here). I'm just looking at the case as a whole, and present some evidence in the video that the majority of the people here seem to ignore. I see no point in responding to this thread anymore. Have fun... |

It is bullshit sarah. Chinesedude or whatever, you've got to be a left-wing liberal. I'm so tired of this tolerant and "anything goes" attitude. With your logic I suppose terrorists and extremists should be given rights too. After all "innocient until proven guilty" right? Ok so Judge Judy jumped to conclusions....So what? It still doesn't excuse the fact the fat bitch was a scammer and deserved to have the book thrown at her. $400 for a photo of a cellphone? On top of that the dumb bitch didn't even word her scam right so her whole argument is invalid. She doesn't even have a job, she would rather sit home and scam people out of their hard earned money. *High-five to Judge Judy* People like this are scum and they deserve no sympathy.

A general legal definition of fraud is as follows: 'an intentional misrepresentation of material existing fact made by one person to another with knowledge of its falsity and for the purpose of inducing the other person to act, and upon which the other person relies with resulting injury or damage.' This case fits this definition exactly. For better or for worse, our legal system is not completely black and white. Any reasonable person would believe that the advertisement was for real cell phones, not a piece of paper. Judge Judy is not a 'real' courtroom in the sense that there is a judge and jury. She is the appointed arbiter, whom alone holds the legal power to settle a dispute by passing legally binding judgement. The moment that this woman admitted to fraud, Judge Judy jumped all over her. This is court TV in case you did not notice. Although court TV displays real cases with real settlements, it is intended for entertainment. This is why court TV exists. Judge Judy was both doing her job as an arbiter and doing her job as an entertainer. She had all the facts (or at least alleged facts) that she needed in front of her in the form of plaintiff testimony and hard evidence. This evidence was substantiated when the defendant explained her side of the story, which clearly involved fraud in every sense of the word. Just because she disclaims the advertisement does not mean that it is not fraud. The fact that the defendant was ignorant enough to believe that it was OK legally to do such a thing is why court TV exists today. I can't believe that I am even arguing with you here. It is quite obvious that everything that happened was appropriate. No more from you about that, please. Especially about the part when you say that she should have the right to defend herself. Her 'defense' was in fact an admittance of guilt. Usually a defendant will attempt to disprove what the plaintiff alleges. The fat woman's only try at a real defense (which she said over and over) was that it was clearly written on the advertisement. Too bad for her this does not hold up in court when an obvious case of fraud is involved.

But it's not criminal court. "Innocent until proven guilty" applies to being charged with a crime by the government. In this case, the fat biatch was being sued for money, not jail time. The way it went down is how it would go down in real court, just with a little more drama for the cameras.
