Beautiful ride...I just got dusted by one yesterday lol...

I use to have an 04 E55. How do you think that would've done against the C63?

I know the E55's are fast, and when properly tuned, some are simply MONSTERS! Not sure how a stock E55 does against a stock C63...probably fairly close. A stock C63 AMG runs 4.1-4.3 sec. 0-60mph and the 1/4mi. in ~ 12.3-12.6 sec. @ 114-116mph; an ecu flash tuned C63 AMG runs in the high 11's-low 12's @ 116-118mph.

E55's (S/C'd) F/I FTW, and...

C63's 6.2L + AMG exhaust sound FTW!!!

Okay, this sounds stupid and frivilous, but the AMG logo on the dashboard computer is BADASS. You look down and you're reminded, "Oh yeah! I drive a totally fucking amazing car that hauls ass all over the highway." I wish BMW would do some cool little M-Power logo on the startup of I-Drive for M cars. Or do they do that already?

It's really not that special.^

I just switch our C63's menu to Aux. It's the only way to adjust iPod songs. Probably the main (and minor) fault with its tech.

That, and the lag time between paddle inputs is well below par. Shift times themselves are bang-smack-holy-shit though.

Yeah, same with the C63. I don't know how they overlooked something as big as that. It's such a hassle that I just play all songs or make a favorites list.

Engine:
-Better in every way save for fuel economy. Much more responsive, revs higher, revs harder, very linear.

Transmission:
-Paddles don't travel enough imo.
-Shift lag is very noticeable unless you're going WOT. More throttle seems to speed up shift times.
-Can't stack commands i.e. no double shifting.
-You can hold the left paddle down and it'll hunt for the lowest possible gear. Neat feature, and it leads to multiple loud-ass crackling downshifts.

Ride (compared to stock RFT/ZSP):
-Body control is tighter, but it's no sports car.
-Bumps feel less harsh; Credit probably goes to the RFTs. Similar ride quality once those are ditched.

Exterior:
-Subjective, but I'll say that it has more on-road presence for sure.

Interior:
-Smoother leather.
-Hard dash plastics. I don't mind it that much.
-COMAND system is better than iDrive 1.0. I also like the feel of the knob more, including iDrive 2.0's revised wheel (which I personally think sucks ass).
-Seats are INFINITELY better in every way. If you're fat then you won't like em. They fit me perfectly. So snug.
-Steering wheel feels natural in my hands, but the materials are pretty hard. The buttons on the steering wheel themselves aren't as well thought out imo.
-Sound system lacks bass BIG time. Also, no EQ menu.

Exhaust:
C63>>>335i. Game. Set. Match.

Oh, and in terms of tire mileage, it's absolutely terrible. Don't expect anymore than 6-10k with moderate driving. If your driving habits border anything along the lines of aggressive, then expect something on the lower end of that estimate.

Wow; you're right on with your comparison, except you for got to say that the C63 AMG is a complete MONSTER right out of the box (and for another $1,495 for a Kleemann ecu flash, it turns into a >500HP BEAST)!!!! BIG 451HP power with BIG 443 lb-ft TQ, and the sounds that emanate from its 6.2L v8 + quad AMG exhaust...OMG!!!

sflgator, any sound clips or plans for an exhaust (removing resonators?) I heard they sound amazing stock and 'godzilla-like' with the resonators removed

God I can't get over how beautiful that car is..

Maybe I can upload a sound/video clip for the oem stock AMG exhaust. I love the sound of the exhaust now with zero issues or droning, so I'm not sure I would touch it at this point, even just to remove the resonators. As is right now, it just sounds so mean and often "burples" when down-shifting (w/ rpm matching "blips") so I don't want to mess it up. I'll look into it though.

Even tho there are some fanbois on MBWorld, a lot of them also own other brands (esp on the W211 E63/55 AMG forums.) imho, they're open to discussion and not just a defense of the brand. It can really get sort of weird here on E90/M3Post sometimes. Maybe it's an age difference, too, with the E63/55 crowd(?)

I'd say the vast majority of MBWorld users are fanboys. They're not open to discussion in my eyes, for the most part.

On the C63 forums. Try the W211 E63/55 forums I am referring to. A lot of M owners there. Also GTR and P-car owners.

Touche. Agreed. I mainly surf the W204 and gen (car discussion) section. Don't even glance at the kill section, fanboyism runs rampant.

C63 AMG startup & rev (to 4,000rpm limit)

Ok, as requested, here's a video of my C63 AMG startup and rev (but it will only allow me to rev to 4,000rpm while parked...redline is @ 7,200rpm ). Personally, I don't think this video does the C63 AMG justice, in the sense that it sounds so much better while driving, WOT, and down-shifting (w/ throttle rev-matching "blips" and exhaust "burples").

Anyhow, turn up the volume guys...

I think it's just the angle of my camera...but each exhaust tip says AMG; it's the C63 oem stock (oval) AMG quad exhaust. Here's a better pic, so you know what I mean...

Added a pic ^^ from the rear. btw -- it may be the same AMG exhaust as all the other AMG's but they must have done something else to it to make it sound much more aggressive than the others, right? I've heard other AMG owners say things like, "damn, I wish my MB AMG sounded like that!"
