I've been looking hard at this but haven't demod it myself. How is the keyboard? Seems like the buttons are flat and would be easy to hit the wrong keys. Also heard the buttons are "touch sensitive" and can only assume the may not depress?

they keyboard is the only thing, to me, that needs a little improvement. coming from a blackberry bold, where the keys have definition, it's a little bit of a learning curve to get used to the flat keyboard. but it feels alright and the keys aren't touch sensitive. there is an actual tactile click that you make when depressing a key, although it's nothing like what you would get on a blackberry. the main reason i like the phone is the browser and google functions. on my BB, i use the google suite of apps second only to BBM. with google built in, everything just flows better. it's a great start, and things will only improve as software updates become available.

/\That's what I'm thinking. I have a Blackjack II (direct competitor to Blackberry) and love the physical buttons because I do a heck of a lot of texting/emailing. I use Google Maps and search but would love to have it built in instead of an often-crashing add-on. My browser is actually pretty poor.
I'll have to swing by the Verizon store and try typing on it for a min.

The HTC is pretty cool too, probably preferred if it had 2.0 software. |

I stopped by the Verizon store on the way home, but they didn't have any out yet. But from what I've seen in the pictures the Droid seems cool, minus the gold accents. I think those are kind of cheesy. But every review that I've seen has raved about how awesome the screen is. I like the looks of the HTC Eris better, but have heard it is underpowered and *might* be able to upgrade to Android 2.0.
If my iPhone drops one more call, I might seriously consider getting rid of it. |

Okay just checked it out in person. The screen is absolutely amazing - the pics don't really do it justice. The browser was so smooth and so clear. It's pretty sturdy, and a bit larger than I thought. I also checked out the HTC Eris and it was pretty awesome for $99.

So today my friend was more than happy to show off his new droid and its nice, and screen is really sharp. Might consider switching up my storm. Verizon has put so much money into advertising this one phone. I know google is trying to get their branding out there but enough hype and more show.
So far i really like his FREE google maps navigation app, and the long battery life

I picked one up yesterday and cannot get it to sync my contact list with my 128. Is anyone else having issues?
It connects to the car and then the phone asks it the car can access my phone book, but nothing happens beyond that. |

i just picked mine up and all i have to say is iphone watch out, this phone is crazy fast with everything it does. theres so many apps that i can't even go through all of them and best of all most of them are FREE!!! the keyboard is going to take time to get use to because my last phone was much smaller and this one is wide so its going to be a learning curve.
Other then that i love this phone i really hope this phone remains a "underdog" because i don't want everyone walking around with it lol |
