I don't give a shit if a modded 335i could hang with one. I'd take the RS5 any day.

The new V8 Camaro SS with LS3 around $35k will destroy a 335i in terms of performance, platform, and tuning potential. And its $15k cheaper. LSx motors > N54 |

I'm surprised by the OP's comments that 'We' have a bigger problem than just the S4 as if we all work for BMW and these rival models will somehow put you out of work and unemployed.
Guys, seriously this is great news for us the consumer because we not only have a possible new champion but will push BMW, Mercedes and any other rival to the RS5 to do better. Frankly if I had a glass of wine in my hand at the moment I would be celebrating right now. |

I wish the 3 series had seat choices like that. The one option that is a must for me on a Cayman S is the sport seats. I was really hoping that BMW Performance was going to bring us some great lightweight Recaros for an affordable price.

The 335 is a great car (obviously I think that since I put the money into owning and keeping one), but let's be realistic and acknowledge that sometimes other cars can be better. You can add 'in some categories' if you feel like it.

the only thing about this RS5 worth celebrating are the seats! This car will be under powered (in comparison to its immediate competition) and severely over priced....not to mention overweight!....

Well as with those M3 comparison the same problem arises, the 335i might be able to run with the M3 and RS5 in a straight line but the rest of it's package isn't design to be the ultra performance model of the breed and thus will fail else where. In fact this comparison becomes even sillier because we aren't comparing 3series with another 3series. I don't know what price Audi would reckon it would need to sell it in the US but it will be well shy of the new M5. And if you would much prefer a nodded 335i instead of either this or the M3 then I accept your opinion but I don't happen to agree that such a car is as good or an alternative to either of them. |

Also, they are totally different class of car. I'd rather take the 9k revving RS5 with that interior and bodywork. Those seats alone kick ass.

Dont know if saying its an enthusiast choice.....real car enthusiast will choose performance and function over appearance and frills.
