I weighed my car last year w the current turbo setup and it was 3205lbs w a 1/2 tank of gas, my camera bag which is probably 30lbs and a full sized spare. So its probably a high 3100lb car in its current form as I've lost the spare in order to fit the meth setup. Nice and light!! Still heavy compared to an Mcoupe though

Looks like work is going ahead really quickly.
I love the RMM wing - looks really similar to the TRD wing.

with regard to the wing, it is an exact replica of the TRD wing, the only difference being that RMM makes the center portion available in carbon fiber. there are eBay versions out there that make the center portion as well as the end plates out of carbon fiber...but i hear that they're hit or miss with fitment. so i didn't take any chances and went with a genuine RMM wing.

my brother has not yet gotten a replacement for the M Coupe...he's been toying with all sorts of ideas - Honda S2000, FD3S RX-7, Subaru Forrester (converted to STi spec), etc. - but i really hope he comes back to the Z3 M Coupe...either way, it'll be a while before he gets another project car...but rest assured that in due time he'll be pursuing another epic automotive project.

i was wrong about the turbo setup on the M3...for some reason i've been thinking this whole time that my buddy was running a 35R on his e36 M3, but it turns out he's running a SC61 w/ .82 a/r. i believe its the remnants of an AA stage 2 turbo kit for the e36 M3, but i can't verify this b/c AA's website no longer seems to list turbo applications for the e36 M3 on their website.

its very possible...but i guess it all depends on how power-hungry he is. if he's happy with the current power level, it'll be tough to convince him to go 35R when his power & torque curves are as nice as they are. to see 300whp/400wtq as early as 4000rpm is quite impressive. i know the 35R is a great match for those BMW 3.0-3.2 litre inline-6's, but unless i was looking for more power, i'd be pretty happy with the SC61.
on a side note, Shawn (A4RingedONE8T) and i had a brief discussion about hypothetical future situations last night ...since you saw Shawn's and Sam's dynos on bf.c already, i'm sure you're already aware of Shawn's plan to move to a smaller turbo in the near future. without going into too much detail (i probably shouldn't even be talking about it at this point), its very possible that Shawn's PT74 could end up under my hood . my biggest dilemma at this point would be coming up with the $$$ to have Shawn fab me a manifold and some custom exhaust piping, and purchase a wastegate. also, i'm not crazy about the idea of running such a large turbo on the stock fuel system. while i know it could make impressive enough numbers on stock fuel, i'm sure the area under the power & torque curves would suffer. i.e. without more fuel, i'll only be able to boost so high w/ a PT74, and that boost level probably wouldn't even begin to scratch the surface of the efficiency range of a PT74...spool time would effectively suffer, and lag would prevail. in effect, it would be a waste of a turbo on my car unless i upgraded the fuel system. its one thing to come up with the cash for a manifold, wastgate, and some custom exhaust piping...but add a fuel system to that, and we're easily talking another $1,000-$3,000. at any rate, its alot to think about, but its something i can't even consider until i have the funds...

i don't sleep on the futon LOL...that's my home office/guest room. i have a 21" thick pillow top matress in the master bedroom...after sleeping on that, i could never sleep on anything else...

for me its honestly a toss-up between the OE wing, the RMM wing, and wingless...i really cannot decide which looks best...i.e. i love them all equally. all other wings for the Supra look like sh!t IMO. i sported the OE wing for ~3 years and loved it, but i've always wanted the RMM wing, so i figured now was the time to do it. i'm sure i'll go wingless at some point...its just a matter of time (years most likely) until the next makeover happens...
