Ok, so a little update.. I changed all my passwords on my credit cards and online banking accts. And I notified the credit bureaus about it. So basically if my social is used at any time to open any type of acct im notifed first. And i have to answer a bunch of questions. Easiest way for me to oepn up something is to tke the freeze away a couple of days b4 trying to open up an acct. if not, the process is just prolonged a bit. lesson learned. b more careful lol

What you haven't asked yourself yet is: Quote:
1. It really was ebay and the questions were legit. 2. It wasn't ebay, I must have mistyped the URL and landed on a phishing site. 3. It wasn't ebay, and I didn't mistype the URL. The last option is ebay got hacked, but I'm discounting that for now. Options 2&3 can be checked by viewing your browser history. If you're sure you did not typo the URL, then something had to take you to a fake ebay when you typed it into your browser. That something would be evil DNS servers. Your system may be configured to use them by downloading a trojan that changes your DNS settings. Here read this: http://www.f-secure.com/v-descs/dnschang.shtml |
