You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

as for the new 911, I didn't like the interior shots.. I want to wait to see it in person before I judge whether I will buy it or not... I wanted a 4-wheel drive so I'd have to wait 1 whole year, and I don't intend to be a pedestrian because a new model came out..
what? someone is going to come up to me and be like "hah! you drive the old generation Porsche?" I'll just look at him and say "oh? what generation Porsche do you drive?" and that will shut him up pretty fast
the 997 is iconic IMO. The last true 911.

I was just teasing you lol. You are in the same situation as my dad and I am teasing him also. (He got a C4S though, not a GTS :P ).

I think my example applies more if I would have bought a F430 7 months before the 458 comes out. I would have been pissed.

Curious as to why you'd differentiate this at the 997. While I have my preferences, I won't say one 911 is more "true" than another, because it isn't my thing, but if I did I'd say the last "true" 911 was the 993, the last oil cooled (that 911 are "air cooled" is a common misconception)

I agree the 993 is the last original 911 (air cooled)
the general consensus on 6speed (pcar part) is that the 991 is more of a GT car due to the interior being less sporty and more geared towards comfort. as a result people (including me) see the 997 as the last sports car 911. I'm sure the 991 is a great car, and I will with hold further judgement until I actually see the car in person. But So far, I am not a fan of it. Perhaps I will opt for the GT3 RS version of it when it comes out (if it comes out).

That's been the trend since the 911 was introduced. The 991 is actually lighter than the 997

vs.

Guess I just don't see a major departure from an interior standpoint.

a lot more buttons
but again, pictures don't tell the whole story
I want to wait to see it in person..

I am actually very taken by their facelift concept which will be a hybrid engine.. I think I'd switch to that assuming performance is untouched..
