If you really like the M3 then go for it. I loved my M3 but I wanted more of a performance car so out with the M3 and in came the C6 and mods. Don't worry about the "outdated" part, even after all these years it's still one of the best looking cars BMW has ever produced.

Yeah, He said Sports Car... Not A whored up Muscle/pony car.
Mustang..Cool, GT500 Just plain silly and in no way a sports car. Never has been, never will be. OP Get an M Coupe, I kind of wish I would have gone ahead and done it. I thought I HAD to have a backseat but you know what? I DON'T LIKE HAVING people in the Back Seat!!! They... TOUCH STUFF... Grrr.... I will probably do the Z4M next.

M3 would probably be the best way to go for a real sports car, and i would suggest a Vette but the interior sucks and you wont have that back seat like you want soooo definitely the M// would be the best choice

Drive a Cayman S while you at it as well. Can find decent deals used on them.

I love the E46 M3...just would have a hard time paying $45k+ for a car thats been out since 2001. (technology and looks)
Know what i mean? Plus im really curious if the prices will drop even more when the E92 M3 is out for a bit. If you just want driving pleasure then im sure the M3 will be perfect. Im just a snob and enjoy my luxury comforts too. Hell go check out a 02-03 911, those are around that price range as well.

40-45k price range? A loaded e92 335i is 58-60K out the door.......I still have NO CLUE why people keep refering to the 335 as a 40k car? Go build one on the website and it sure comes out to alot more then 40-45k. Especially after tax and everything else. I paid EXACTLY what the website MSRP was plus tax and ended up being like 60k (about 57k built, with about 3k in different taxes and fees). So you should say your in the 55-60K market. And for that.......Z06, Z4M, used RS4, damn good E39 M5, super clean and almost new E46 M3, or whatever else is sportier in that range.
I agree with the rest when they say to just moddify your current e92 up a bit more. And you say you have V1's......I've heard from many vendors and others that V1's are pointless, so you should have, or still can, go with V2 or 3. Get some software, get an exhuast, and whatever other performance mods come out and you;ll be fine.

If you think the E46 M3 has a good suspension, and that's the "feel" your going for. Just get some KW's with overly stiff springs. It'll hurt your back and kidney's and probly handle worse, but hell, stiff = better handling right?
Just keep the 335i, PROcede and a nice set of coilovers and you'll have a faster, better handling, more comfortable car. |
