Quick fix = waiting 32 years? 100-110 on lat pull downs, 50 on dumbbell rows. By then end of a set of 4, I can't hold on to get 12 reps.

Yesterday I STARTED with the pull downs, but mixed in 15-20 sit-ups on the row bench on the other side of the machine. The last set the bar was slipping out of my grasp at 10. I got 11 on the last dumbbell rows.

I saw a guy doing pulldowns with something unusual on his hands. He showed me his GriPads (dot com) and I got them in the mail yesterday. $20 delivered, and they feel pretty good so far. Going to give them a try tonight at the gym.

Changed my grip to be a lot more open hand on barbells, but I was able to relax my grip some since the neoprene provided extra friction. The place was too crowded to get on a pulldown machine, so I didn't get a chance to try that. Things will need a few more tries to see if that opened grip is more of a problem than the increased friction is a plus

Just checked it out, it looks cool. Is it flexible? As in, does it allow you to close your fist without resistance?
I'm gonna order one. Because these gloves can be annoying.

Here's a question for you guys:

Those who've been on bulk and cut cycles, did you notice a loss of shoulder width when cutting?

My body fat mainly collects around my waist , lower back, and lats. I've noticed I've gained a tremendous amount of shoulder width since my bulk, but I'm afraid of losing that when I cut...

Cut sounds more drastic than what I am doing generally, so I don't have direct experience there.

The past few weeks, as I drop some pounds thru reduced caloric intake, my shoulders and traps are getting a lot more defined, and a bit larger. Last night I weighed in, after dinner, at 196.4 It doesn't count until I do 3 weigh ins under a certain weight for me to count it. Target is somewhere south of 185.

I'm adjusting from 4 sets to 5, bumping my target from 10-12 to 14+ reps, and dropping the weight just a bit.

I've been using these grip pads http://www.amazon.com/Gym-Gloves-Alt...JK69J7PSJWJSR3. I don't like to wear gloves so these work good for me.

^ The Gripads have 3 finger loops (index, middle, ring) to leave you a bit of control with the thumb and pinky. I kinda wish I had seen those on Amazon since they have the leather palm vs. neoprene for all on the Gripads.

Thanks for the help on shoulder width guys, just measured mine: 20.6" from side delt to side delt, no flexing, standing normal, just butt against the wall.

Hopefully they stay the same during my cut...better yet, hope that measurement goes up!!

Also, don't forget that old adage that muscle weighs more than fat. If you look the way you want, how much the Earth sucks you to the surface isn't REALLY all that important.
Thought i answered this old post, lol.

Yea, i've noticed that. When i step off and step back on, i either gain or loose a pound.

I've been holding pretty steady at 196 after dinner at the gym. When I went to the Dr.s office, fully dressed with keys and wallet and such, I was right at 200. Did a nice leg workout, and left thinking of Arnold pushing the wheel in Conan, albeit one of the much younger, before he grew tree stumps for legs. I had a bit of a challenge depressing the clutch fully, I kinda lost the touch and couldn't feel if I had pressed enough to get into first gear.

you guys still updating this thread?? my last weigh in was a last night at 154# but my body fat % went up 18% from 19% to 37%. Oh remember that pain I had in my left arm for 3 months. It's starting to go away after I went back to the gym last week..

Banned for doubling fat in 3 months.

I skipped last night to go help a former employee get his 3 laptops printing to his wireless printer, and work on his projector shills. Back and Bi on the agenda for tonight.

... is that even physically possible? I've never heard of that kind of fat gain before. I'd measure it again. It was likely a fluke. Did you use one of those hand-held things? Those can be off by 15% or more in some situations.

it's one of those all in one homedics electronic scales. Probably not the most accurate one out there, if there is one. So, I hope it's not accurate. lolz I hopped back on it this morning before going to the gym and it was at 35%

I got to my self-imposed 1 hour limit last night, and took up one more set on the rowing machine.

Brought a change of clothes to work since I get out an hour early today, I can get a workout in before we go drink sake tonight. Chest and tri this afternoon.
