Great osprey pose in an urban environment.

Agree! Great shot!
Here is one I call "Asking for directions to Casablanca" as it was taken on our trip to Morocco on our Camel guided tour.

Great perspective. The dog anchors the picture, but the camels and people in the BG pull your eyes out deep into the scene.

Not from today, but I forgot about it for a couple of weeks.
Not many days you can see the sun dip into the ocean without any clouds in the horizon.

Yes, lucky shot to get the seagull in the shot, I also like the little wave infront of the sun.

Thanks Dave. For perspective, here is the environment I am getting the Osprey shots in. This is taken from exact same spot as all of my in-flight shots, although with the 5D3 24-105mm combo versus the 7D2 500mm.
This is roughly the shot you would get with a cell phone trying to get the birds nest, while maintaining a respectable distance View of Osprey Enviroment by lennycarl08, on Flickr |

It's amazing to compare 1984 lens technology to today's. Look at this review of an EF 1200mm f/5.6L lens for sale by B&H: http://photorumors.com/2015/04/27/ca...ale-at-180000/ Two men can hardly handle the 1200mm, yet I can put a 2x TC-III on my 500mm Series II or a 600mm and hand hold it at under 1/100-sec. Granted, I'd be at f/8 instead of f/5.6, but the old lens doesn't have ANY IS, while the new lens has IS effective to around 4-stops. Someone will probably buy that old lens for the $180,000 asking price, but it belongs in a museum. The 1200mm was originally designed as an FD mount and convert to EF. We have the gains in optics, light weight technology and IS, but the digital sensor technology has roared ahead of film for focal length limited shooting. 1,120mm (effective) hand held: Hovering Hummer by David Stephens, on Flickr Dave

You seem to have luck with pouncing coyotes, DC.
Here's one from today in Central Park. This was shot with the 16-35mm f4 IS. I just cropped it to 4/3. The shot below it is a 100% crop from the first image. Love this lens. Central Park by Mark Johnson, on Flickr Central Park by Mark Johnson, on Flickr

Looks like a nice day in NYC Mark. I have read a lot of good things about that lens. If I didn't already have the 2.8 version, I would be tempted.

I actually wished I had brought my X1 when this road turned to dirt and gravel. Still, a nice day in wine country this past weekend.
