I built a new roof for the chickens' coop, and then painted it RED RED WINE (official color) with something I had left in a can that got me 2 good coats. I haven't yet completed "The Penthouse" on top yet, ran out of motivation.

Since I did this, we are probably done with rain for 18-24 months

Added to my driveway today.

Untitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

Now I need to get my 20x20 carport ordered and then build the room to hold my pressure washer. Getting closer to having a lighted wash bay at home.

This year I'm finally going to completely renovate the bathroom in my condo. I actually am completely disinterested in doing it, but it has to be done. The challenge is my 1 bedroom condo only has 1 bathroom, so a speedy timeline is a necessity. Luckily, I travel for work, and have a LOT of Hyatt points to stay in a local hotel on the weekends without paying any money.

The project will involve relocating the electric-radiant heat from the ceiling (so dumb), to the floor. Even though my hot water heater is under the counter in the kitchen; I'm going to put in a tankless system while there's a plumber involved. Thinking of a wall-mounted vanity to help the small (11' x 5') room feel bigger. My biggest challenge besides time is incorporating as much storage as possible. Of course since I'm a card-carrying audiophile, I'll do my usual 2 zones of audio with a shower zone, and a vanity zone.... With KEF speakers of course!

How about the shitter? If you have an enclosed "water closet" you'll need a shitter zone too.

If that’s an electric tankless you’ll need an electrician as well. When they switch on, they need a lot more juice than tank heaters.

The entire room is only 11'x5' so no separate shitter zone is required. The theory of the separate shower zone is that I don't have to have the speakers by the vanity playing when I'm in the shower, and vice versa.

I'll need an electrician for the heating and lighting in the bathroom anyway, but I've looked into the demands of the tankless unit and the existing circuit is good to go. Keep in mind it's only a 750 ft^2 condo with 1 bathroom and 1 resident (me). A small unit has all the capacity needed for the application.

Our latest house is a new build, but it was already completed when we purchased so we're making a few changes. The kitchen felt very constricted due to a lack of counter space because the cabinets are so deep and mounted so low. We also didn't care for the dark backsplash when the rest of the house is light tones.

Kitchen before:

Demo and relocate under cabinet lighting:

Patched and ready:

Lining up the first row:

Almost there:

First iteration completed. Discovered the new lights don't extend past the shelves to light the counters:

Swapped the lights and added a knife block:

Added a mini herb garden and wood paneling for the bunker above the hood. Finished!

Here's a few recent before afters on my latest project. This one killed me. I moved the kitchen, added 1.5 bathrooms, headers everywhere.

Very well done! I really like the shelves in lieu of the cabinets. The tile looks way better than the mosaic.

When I get around to finishing it I'll post some pictures of the closet I am redoing for the wife. Took out all of the wire shelving, fresh paint, oak built in desk and shelving.

We've got a loud babbling creek on our property so we built a 20 x 10 man cave next to it to light a fire, play games listen to the creek or watch tv in. Outside of it is 85% done (it's winter here) inside is pretty much done.

Nicely done! I'm considering buying the lot next to me and either building a tree house or a platform and putting a yert on it. This motivates me. Digging the black subway tile.

thanks! You should do it. A cool treehouse sounds great.

You might dig it a little less, the subway tile is actually blue/gray. Since the ceiling is black, we wanted a little contrast.

Tested the parking on my new slab yesterday. This is roughly how the cars would fit under a 20X20 car port with a 4 foot gap between the house and carport. The plan is to order and aluminum carport and dress it up with stained 2x1's to match the deck.

Untitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

This is roughly the idea I am going for.

Master closet upgrade weekend project. Original design the builder gave us didn't offer much organization and we hated stacking our folded clothes in the cubes because it pressed wrinkles into the clothes.

We're about 95% finished. We need to replace the baseboard trim add some custom trim on the sides for a more built-in look. And install 1000 little plugs to cover all the remaining install holes.

You did those yourself? Very nice work. We have had them in our master bedroom his / her closets for 17+ years and just got them for our condo closet. I took the easy route and got them designed and installed for me. Can’t beat the organization and optimization of space. Helps avoid extra furniture.

Yep, assembled and installed ourselves. IKEA FTW!

We had IKEA Pax closets in our last house as well and we've missed them every day since we moved 2 years ago. Glad we finally made time to complete this project!

I've got severe closet envy now. That'll be my next thing! Thanks for the inspiration

My wife drives the Tahoe. The wagon and Tahoe would stay outside under the cover. The garage only holds two so I would swap the 02, m3 and e9 around in there, which ever car is not in the garage would be at my dads shop.
