Here is a question for the ladies. Biorin Lups bimmette Sara504
Watches on guys. We have asked "do you care" before, but never a more open ended question. What do you think looks good on a guy. Sleek dress watch? High tech looking watch? Big mechanical watch? Whatever? What do you think looks good?

It has to suit the guy, or it looks too contrived. I tend to prefer simple and timeless overall.

What if it is way more expensive than a Rolex, just less "recognizable"?
Also, which Cartier do you have? Tank Francais? Ballon Bleu?

You mean like a monster watch on a tiny wrist?
So, would you notice if you were dating a guy and he had a different watch for his suit in the evening vs. at the beach or in his jeans & tee shirt?

Cartier watches seem more feminine. A lot of famous women wear Cartier Tank Francaise or Cartier Tank Americaine, including Michelle Obama.

It really depends on the wearer, just like owning a BMW. There are some who own watches for exactly the reasons you stated...bling and showing off.

There are MANY others who own them for the craftsmanship, technology, and beautiful design. I daresay most of us are just like BMW owners...we appreciate the fine design and technology and enjoy a well crafted instrument.

Holy crap. I could have written those words. Creepy. In fact, I think I have written those words in the watch sub-forum. This is as weird as the Bond/Most Interesting Man thing. I have explained To people a million times why I dig high end watches and it is always some variation on those words.
Edit: in some cases, the history of the brand as well - especially the big Maisons like VC, PP, AP, Breguet, JLC, Blancpain, etc.... The list goes on.

I wear a couple of different watches because I like them, not for anyone else or because what others might think.

That said - I like a professional and timeless style watch at work, and a sportier watch for more casual days. From a Tag to Ironman Timex....

Remember - even a broke watch is right twice a day

What do you mean? I know you don't have a side chick. You mean you have a girlfriend that you haven't introduced to your mom yet? Just bring her home one day.

Why don't I enjoy being social?

I drove to SD (90 minutes) to go to a friends birthday, got there, stayed 15 minutes tops- and drove home.

What's happening to me???

Hmm I guess "seeing on the side" is a bad way to say it, it is more of we both know how we feel about each other but she has her priorities first, of which I am not going to get in the way of.

Long story short, my parents want to see her but she is always busy.
