Never tried one of those, but I would imagine they are pretty nice. Some of the commercial units cost more than my corolla.

It's definitely still in the break-in phase and keeps getting better. That being said it's the only one I've owned so I can't compare to the higher end models that can go for thousands.

First superautomatico I saw was in Spain at the breakfast area in one of the hotels we stayed. Now that thing made insanely good drinks, but it was a beast.
Also remember it's also a burr grinder. Getting a burr grinder and regular espresso machine is about the same. This one's automatic so it's a good deal assuming it pulls a good espresso.

Honestly I don't know if it pulls a good shot, what I do know is it pulls a much better shot than me!

I got tired of fucking around with my delonghi. Wasted so many shots grinding too fine or putting too much or too little. Some mornings I would give up and not drink shit.

Should of probably gone this route from the start, but since I already had the delonghi I decided to get the grinder and try. If starting from scratch the price difference between this and the delonghi with grinder isn't much more. I guess it just depends if you are into the whole process of making the espresso. I found out I'm only into drinking it.

There was this fancy machine at a BMW dealership servicing waiting room. And it was constantly broken down and in need of servicing. And I guess customers were complaining about the unavailability of the machine.

And the dealership posted a message on the machine to something to the effect of: " please bear with us as we service this machine. The monthly maintenance costs of this machine is the same as the monthly payments of a BMW M6."

I was going to close two of the sides but I think I am going to leave it open. I need to do a couple washes first and then decide.

That's so cool. I plan to do the same for my dad. He's wanted a truck all his life...just never had one.

After almost losing him recently, and seeing him recover......I will get him one once he is able to return to driving.

My Dad's always made sure the family had everything they needed, and now watching his pennies to be sure he and his wife enjoy a good retirement, so this is a present to give them a bit of fun and enjoyment in their daily routine. Why take a Toyota Yaris when you can take a Sunbeam Tiger!

I'm quite familiar with Vidar+LS50 combo. That's a really nice setup! I'd love to learn your impressions after you take the gear home and have your way with them.

Oh awesome! How did you like it? I was torn between the Vidar and the Emotiva XPA-2 Gen3. I decided to go with the Vidar because I'm using the LS50s on my desk and the XPA-2 was physically too big.

Personally I think you made a wise sonic decision alone. The LS50 are definitely revealing enough to really benefit from the smoother A/B design in the Schiit over the switching/H setup in the Emotiva.

The theoretical debate is if you sacrifice a tiny bit of smoothness for the extra power the Emotiva would deliver over the Schiit. In a desktop/near field setup I wouldn't think the trade off would be worth it. I guess it depends on user expectations, but this is a guy buying a nice DAC too so...

Plus the Schiit is prettier, more compact, Made in USA, and maybe even less expensive?
