Nothing fancy, just a double cheeseburger with a homemade sauce concoction of mayo, mustard, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar and a dash of Truff, sprinkled with some chopped scallion stalks (because I didn't have any chives).

Daughter really wanted to go to the mall today. We made her promise she wouldn't ask for a toy if we took her. After a couple or tantrums she finally agreed to not ask for a toy if we took her to the mall.
Once we got there we tried this random chicken spot called "burnin mouth" in the food court. It was actually really good... totally unexpected from a mall foodcourt.

NYE dinner - I'm cooking for 10.
1) Started yesterday with the Lobster Bisque base...which takes about 8 hours. From this morning, was able to make the rue and add back the lobster meat. 2) Main course is a Prime Rib roast - 5 bone, about 12lbs. Did a dry salt brine a couple days ago, and made tallow from the excess fat that I added thyme, rosemary, garlic, salt and pepper. This is a reverse sear at 200 on the Treagar. 3) Sides include potatoes au gratin with parmesan and gruyere cheese - topped with butter and smoked paprika. 4) Also I'll make a roasted brussels spout with bacon and cranberry (this is before it hits the oven) and a cooked spinach and bacon on the stove top. 5) For dessert - Vanilla Crème Brûlée that I will top with fresh berries. Made my homemade horsey sauce as well - dinner's at 5:30 (cause I know you all want to come over), and apologies now for probably forgetting to take the finished pics.
