Something tells me this pic below isn't Point Reyes, but i'm not 100% sure. I know i drove through there when the wife and i toured the west coast, but i can't recall. I know it's point something.... lol

Any idea?

Thank you sir, love the sunbeams in your sky pic. I'm never sure what conditions make those show up. But i think humidity has something to do with it. I only think that because the last time i captured one, i was sweating my ass off and it was only 78 degrees. lol I think i already posted it in this thread. Was very hazy and humid that day.

It was probably around 80-degrees when I took that, but well below 50% humidity. We're still getting smoke from the West Coast fires, so that could be it. Of course, right where it's raining, the humidity is higher and that may be it.

During the eclipse the other night I saw moon beams for the first time. Very cool looking. Couldn't capture them in a pic, though. They were just too faint.

For faint stuff, you need ISO through the roof or long exposure that might blow out everything else.

Exactly what was happening. The moon was so bright that the entire frame was washing out. Maybe a grad filter would have helped, but I didn't have one with me.

Thanks guys. That was shot while standing up in my van through the sunroof. There were a bunch of Hawks circling above the area, so I pulled over, stood up, and aimed up. 600mm using a 2x tc on my 300 2.8.

From my driveway the other night. The fires have been terrible, but they sure make a pretty sunset
