My target is to hold Tesla until it’s obvious to the haters that it was a hold. Why is because Tesla is an innovative Tech company with high value despite competition and because of continued investment by US government and demand.

It is up because the market is up and because Tesla is an appealing stock.

Q2 price target: 208$/share, because I like the stock

Are you that sensitive? I came at you with genuine questions you couldn’t answer. To the moon is not an investing strategy, it’s wishful thinking. TSLA stock is deep in the red, highly doubtful you’re in the green even with this run up. There I came at you.

Seems like you’re happy so keep on keeping on.

1. TSLA is up because a rising tide floats all boats. I agree with this, generally.

2. Why is TSLA an appealing stock?

3. $208 per share because you like it? Makes no sense. What other reasons do you have for $208/sh by 6/30/2023?

These aren’t bearish questions, but rather questions, among others, any investor should ask before buying any stock.

Btw anyone with money in Robinhood I suggest you rethink using it if for more that 1-10% of net worth funds. Why? because I do and I tried to transfer funds to another account and it’s virtually impossible. No option to do so and their support lines are nonexistent. It’s all a calculated scheme by them. Don’t believe me try it. I gave up, liquidated the stocks (long holds so its cap gains) and transferred the cash out. The downfall of this company will be very FTX-like

I was a bit off. Non-retired US adults, as a whole, have a median retirement savings of around $65K. That includes assets like a home. Scary. That means there are loads of near retirement age people with less than $100K to retire on. A monthly SS check and $100K or less won't last long.

Thanks to companies no longer offering pensions in the 1980s/1990s and shifting the retirement burden on employees through 401ks, the government has allowed for a very dangerous situation for the Baby Boomer generator and those that follow it. Weak ass company 401K matches are pennies compared to what they had to cover with pensions. Employees are to blame as well as very few even enroll in 401Ks and many spend now rather than plan and save for the future.

Sure, many say they don't ever see themselves not working, but I find that rather amusing when it's coming from a 20 to 40 something. You'd best be prepared in the event you can't work into your 60s+ because of an unforeseen health issue. Age catches up with you quick, even if you're healthy. The reality is most of us are living into our 70s.

That made me curious, and I came across the following.

The BLS said in 2021 that 75% of private sector workers enroll and 89% of state and local public sector workers enroll. More here: https://www.bls.gov/opub/ted/2021/68...ns-in-2021.htm.

Enroll and participate are very loose terms here. Many employees sign up, but very few actually contribute much of anything. Some companies require enrollment, but they can't force you to contribute. Many public sector employees have access to pensions and pension-like systems. Funny how that works. The government allowed for the private sector push of the 401K to take away pensions to maximize profits but government doesn't do the same? Ironic

Most Americans don't know squat about investing. It's overwhelming by design and the US tax code doesn't help things. A lot of 401Ks are also pretty terrible with respect to the funds offered. Employees see a fund in their 401K offering with a fancy name like "Wealth Growth Fund" and a high expense ratio, thus assume that's the fund(s) to be in. I was guilty of this when I was younger. So much wasted money and time. Actively managed funds with high expense ratios will almost always come out way behind an S&P 500 index fund over time (5+ years).

IMO, put enough money in your 401k to get the match and only seek out the S&P 500 index funds. Read the book "The Little Book of Common Sense Investing" and take the rest of your money and open an account at Vanguard, Fidelity, etc. and manage the rest of the investing yourself.

Do some research.

The average American family has a $748,000 net worth, according to Federal Reserve data. But the median net worth is $121,700.

Yes, people are free to make their choices regarding enrollment and funding of 401Ks that are available to them. The wife and I certainly took advantage of every opportunity when it came to both defined benefit and defined contribution plans.

The last I read (some time ago), private sector defined benefit pension plans are required to be 90% funded. Those funded at a lower percentage are required to produce and follow a plan to raise their funding to 90%.

Public sector defined benefit pension plans are backed by taxpayers. I'm not sure, but I don't think they have funding requirements similar to private sector plans. I do know that many are seriously underfunded and will be raising taxes in one way or another for a long time to come just to cover current payments. Nobody I know pays any attention to the funding status of the public sector pension systems in their localities and states.

You still have to divide by the number of people in the home.

If I had to guess again, higher net worth households have less people in them.

This really the hill you want to die on?

The country has massive income and asset disparities but it’s not that bad.

Today I heard CNBC say for BH Month that only 5% POC have residential real estate. Extrapolate from that data point, that stat is wrong.

You were asking for my response imo bc you quoted me twice! And then your numbers are household figures when my GUESS was based on the individual.
So, I’m not sure if this is a hill I’m dying on or what the situation is but I do know you didn’t research brokerages well enough.

That net worth figure clearly includes home equity....
