I'm itching right now to leave the office and get an hour or so out in this great light I've got right now. If I can find ANY SUBJECT this light will make it shine. It is about getting out and doing something. When I travel, the only thing that I leave home is the 500mm and it goes when there's a chance of birding. I've got my wife trained to where she's surprised if I don't go out, home or away. Of course, my other hobbies suffer. It is time consuming, particularly with my self-imposed rule, every image must be processed within 24-hours. (I got behind once and this is the only way that I don't dig another huge hole). I get out on average about 10 to 12-hours per week. Double that for processing and piddling with postings and groups, like this, for example, which I love, but it's all time. I'm guessing 30-hours per week, including some time when I should be working. (I never let work slide, but I do have a somewhat flexible schedule). About pix of people, I only post with permission, unless it's someone that I don't know that's out in public and I don't make them the main subject. I do lots of people-in-nature shots and try to get their backsides, so I can list it with Getty, but occasionally I'll get one that's recognizable by them or their family. I post those on a public forum, as reportage, but they're never the main subject. I once got a beautiful woman on a unruly horse. I wish I could see her again, show her the image and get a release, because everything was perfect, but I've never seen her again. Still I posted it on Flickr. I half hope that she or a friend will see it and contact me for a copy. Odds on that are long. She was riding on public land, so I have no qualms; however, if I did a portrait setting with someone, I'd not release it without their permission.

I have an image like that of a mother and son at a butterfly exhibit. It was just too good not to post. If I had known I had that shot in my camera, I would have given her my card so I could send her a print later. I was actually tracking the butterfly, but the focus shifted to her and her son and the look of fascination on the kid's face is priceless.

I just stay away from people (photographing them that is!) as there just seem to be too many paranoid folks around these days. I prefer more obliging models that don't threaten to sue or call the cops...like ducks

^^^Gorgeous vehicle. Although for an SUV that costs 6 figures, it had better be special.
Love the shoveler, Ed. Seriously nailed focus on that one.

I'm not sure is Fang is young or old. His fur says, "old" but his posture and size says, "young" to me. Nice backlit image.

I was comparing my new, 2000x, Lexar, SD card to my old CF card when I noticed the gulls all screaming and taking flight. That's a sure sign of a disturbance in the force, so I scan the sky to find a bald eagle flying straight at me. Unfortunately, I was sitting in the car and there was a pole between me and the eagle and I didn't have time to jump out of the car. I pre-focused where I thought it'd be when it passed the pole and got this shot, clipping its wing slightly. Darn! Oh well, at least I got a shot. Look for the fish in its talons:

Yeah, me too, but the wings that I got looked so good that I just left the clipping.
