I'm not sure why, but I lean toward nautical images. I've taken something close to this shot on many voyages over the years, but I got the closest to my vision with this one:

Of the 260 or so that I've posted on Flickr, less than 10 were taken with anything other than the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS. I carried and was glad that I had the 15mm f/2.8 diagonal fisheye and the EF 70-200mm f/4L IS, the few times that they were needed. All those are fairly light, but with a full-frame camera, it's a pretty heavy kit.

I find that my travel pictures and landscapes are the ones that I want to blow up to 50". Now that I've got the 5DsR, I may try a 72" print soon. The 5D3 and the 6D are great bodies for making large prints also.

Ed's taking some beautiful pix with his Fuji. A full-frame mirrorless would be temping as a specialized travel kit. Still, I'd need a additional new set of lenses.

Oh, I take it back, I found a batch of 20 pix taken with the 70-200mm, when I was on a small boat just offshore.

Yes people do fish that way, but I have never seen anyone catch anything so i have no idea how they get to the fish
