So, what is the difference between bar in front vs. bar behind the neck? As I move up in weight I don't think I can do as much in front, my chest isn't big enough to rest the bar and my wrists won't hold much more than 100 before I start to cry like a little girl.

To squat less using the front squat format is normal. Also, the bar is resting on your anterior deltoid, not the chest (...or the clavicle).

I'm benching today. It'll be a hypertrophy workout consisting of 5 sets of 6 @ 275 lbs., follow by 100 dips and 100 pull-ups to finish it off.

Seems it's back day for most. I'm back to back/bi tonight. I thought I had to take a break to help my bro buy a computer, but he cancelled on me so it's off to the gym after din.

I did some nice lat work last night. On set 5 of the 3 pull-downs I was doing, I bumped up the weight to 130% of what I normally work with, and still got 7-8 reps.

I was feeling cocky about that early success when I did the preacher curls, so decided to bump up weight in the early sets, and reduce down the last with more reps. I woke up several times last night with what felt like balloons instead of arms.

Sedan, what the HELL are these low-bar squats????? Just some new form of torture designed to really blast the butt? I saw a guy my wife works with and noticed he was squatting with the bar almost middle of his back. I couldn't resist asking questions. Man, that just ain't right. . .

Oh, and caffeine today. Haven't had a cup of leaded joe since Feb. 25. No Jack/diet in that time frame either.

Hit chest and tri last night. Felt good, did some different things, put more weight and didn't worry that I could lift as many for today. Really burned the tris at the end, and have balloons again for arms this morning.

Weight on the scale seems to have stabilized at 193, but all my pants seem to need a belt if I don't want the ladies in the office to have to look at my plumbers' cleavage

Some people like to vary the bar's position in the squat, but I find that it's just a matter of preference and there's no additional benefit nor detriment associated with bar placement. Usually when somebody is purposely employing a low-bar technique, their torso tends to be more forward protruding. Not my cup of tea at all. My back is more upright, but the bar is nestled firmly on my trap muscles.

I noticed that immediately, and my lower back got sore watching. Not a good kind of sore either.

Almost all my pants are 34. I have a pair of 569 Levi's on today in 33, and if I didn't have a belt they would be hung up on my thighs. I keep feeling this breeze down my lower spine, but I didn't fart.

Easter Saturday I mowed thru a lot of carne asada as I was cooking/eating. Abs got another strong workout on Monday trying to crown that baby's head.

Did you carb deplete prior to it?

If not, it didn't do anything at all, except that it may have given you psychological power or confidence...

Refeeding/carb-loading/carb-backloading/depleting, etc., is not as easy as just eating a shit ton of carbs over a weekend to speed up your metabolism. It is a very precise tool that can be used, but must be administered very accurately and set up perfectly to have an effect on your body.

You've been at 169 for a while. Are you adding in more cardio/dropped your calories lower? I'd recommend the prior rather than the latter.

i get about 120-130 carbs a day, but i get thru the day just fine on low carbs. i rarely feel tired or low on energy.

i kept my protein/fats low with common sense over the weekend, i am not gona measure/track everything when i am fucking up.

my cardio still the same, 3-4x week, 180-220 calories each time for 25-30 mins after my workout. this whole week i try to get 200 minimal.

Got 2 nice compliments in the space of an hour today.

At lunch, my brother-in-law's father is walking out and says hi. He's 93 and walks with a cane, so as we are standing there, he reaches over to put a hand on my shoulder (affection or stability, I'm not sure, probably a little of both) "Whoa, there's some muscle there"

Back at work, I say something random to a coworker who is ex-Marine and always been in shape, ala Clint Eastwood. "You've been losing weight, what did you do with your evil twin?"

Shoulders tonight!
