Meanwhile my increased allocations to closed-end fixed income, preferred stocks and ultra-short bond ETFs continue performing quite well, beating the S&P, DJIA and Nasdaq by a significant margin. Nearly 3x the Nasdaq.

As far as stocks go, defensive value issues like BMY (5-day return ~7%) and MDLZ (5-day return ~7.7%) and MDT (5-day return 5.14%) are seeing momentum. Not flashy, like tech, but not bad either in times of uncertainty.

I just don't know if I see it...maybe with tariffs it gets a little bump because I'm sure there will be some sort of exceptions there given Elon's close proximity to Trump, but I don't know.

Tesla is in freefall and will continue to get crushed so as long as Musk remains the face of that company. They have also recently lost the core of their design team. I think Musk is gone in 2 months or less. He is wildly unpopular throughout the world. He will be the poster child for how to loose hundreds of billions of dollars of market value within less than a year. If Enron was a guy, Musk would be it.

And yeah, I wouldn't touch that stock with a 10 foot pole for at least a couple of years. Tesla will remain a viable EV maker, but Musk has seriously damaged that company. I have many friends with Teslas and they all now resent buying them. Many have applied the "Elon sucks" and "I got this before Elon went crazy" stickers on their cars as two them have had their vandalized in the last 4 weeks. One of our local dealers had a digital image of Musk doing his "salute" broadcast across their building for a few nights which is located next to the highway. Pretty hilarious I must say. They've got 24 hour security parked at the store now. If this going on in Kansas City, it must be happening elsewhere I would think. That's not good for business.

He is like a petulant child with a bad case of ADD. We all know the kid who had too many toys and liked to wreck his stuff.

He brought Twitter to its knees after buying it in a weed induced state (54.20 a share on 4/20). When his customers didn't want their advertising next to obnoxious messaging, he yelled F you at them! A real pro.

This is not a stable fellow. He takes ketamine, supposedly for depression. Some of its side-effects are disorientation, confusion, or loss of motor coordination. The dude may be found dead of overdose one day.
