I'm looking forward to seeing the Dune Grey in person. In most photos it looks more beige than I think I'd like and others more Porsche Chalk-like.
I was really hoping for Dravit Grey to be an option. |

I don't understand the hate for the small shift lever. I've used it in an X5 and a 430 as rentals and it's completely intuitive and easy to use. It also doesn't block the other controls, idrive knob, or cupholders like a larger shift knob would. If the thing is electronic, there is no reason for it to be that large.
The only thing I miss is a place to rest my right hand while driving. |

Seriously … I guess driving with left hand on the steering wheel and right hand on the shifter is not going to be possible with video game interface

Why can you option the X1 and X2 with red seats and on the X3 they omitted this? Also, no more carbon fiber interior trims on the newer M lite models? The interiors look so cheap compared to the options on the SQ5.

Afaik the only trim is around the shifter console, and there is nothing on the dash or doors. Heck, there’s not even ambient lighting in the rear.

Until you mistakenly lock the car with the keyfob in the car (nearly any passing body part will qualify). Because that will never get old!

One was designed in the middle of the Pandemic while the other was not. Care to guess?

Wow bmw really outdid themselves again with another garbage design. The exterior is horrendous and the interior screams economy car. Really giving me Q3 vibes or some very low end Audi. Even Mercedes GLA class has a better interior.

I think he's totally spot on. What happened to the sleek lines on the side? It has lost that aggressive look and feels boxy to me. The interior with those big light bars is horrendous. Again, what happened to the sleek lines - the thin subtle lights across the door and also the rear doors (which seems like are not illuminated with accent lighting anymore). Totally non cozy nor premium feeling. I had a feeling this was going to be the outcome seeing what they've been doing to the designs the last few years.
I like how he describes the old school method of drawing the designed, etc. Do you all remember when the G01 first appeared? They had Calvin Luk everywhere explaining the details of his design and the flow of the lines as well as it's aggressiveness. None of that with this. They truly have embraced this minimalist design concept. It doesn't look like a performance vehicle and the M50 badge on it looks out of place. |

Some detailed shots of the interior design and quality of materials. This is the M50, so lower models may use lower quality materials i.e. plastic rather than fabric.
The reviewer suggest the back seats also no longer recline, and the rear tailgate shots do remind me of the early 1 Series design from back in the day. Last edited by avi66; 06-22-2024 at 05:39 AM.. |
