I can see good setup as 4 motors with cross axil diff lock 😁
BTW, like EVs. Driven IX M60 for a day 👍
Just cabin fir out not for me.
Would 4 motors not mean that each wheel has an independent motor and are not at all physically linked? So to simulate a diff would just be in software.

They should be towing it with a XM, not an old X5

Sadly for some of us this can't work for track days because of battery range + tire/brake consumables costs caused by a weight (physics)

I'll out myself as one of the people who have STILL not come to terms with the new grille... however I actually LIKE the front end of this one! I feel the wider stance and CSL grille lines actually improves the front end proportions by an order of magnitude!

Indeed, it seems like the GranCoupe shape, being lower and wider than an M3 makes literally all the difference here. The rear tails accentuate the difference all the more, as well as diffuser cutouts recalling exhaust.

I would buy this as my first EV.

Thank god for those huge grills. Can imagine the engine requires massive air intake.

If you have a home that gets electricity I'm not sure why you'd be spending hours of your life charging at service stations. If anything you wouldn't have much of a reason to be at a service station.

Pretty sure this body style is being used just for testing the technology and performance given it's a hodge podge of current models. The actual design will be different. Plus, they wouldnt reveal the design so early if it were going to production.

There is absolutely no need for a mechanical differential for locking.

You can absolutely synchronize the motor rotation electronically. The sensors and control are already there.

Sure it might cost money. but the argument of EVs being heavy one trick acceleration monsters simply isn't true. The Unplugged Performance Plaid just set a new record at Streets Of Willow, and one of the fastest sedan times at Laguna Seca. I would be willing to bet, quicker times than anything you are achieving in your current track vehicle.

https://www.thedrive.com/news/modifi...willow-springs

Don't forget a 1020HP Plaid still holds and EPA rating of over 100MPGe and never has to deal with smog issues of many modified cars. Also, the braking is actually assisted by regen, to the point where a 5000lb i4 can stop in the same distance as a M3/M4.

For further proof, looks at the timed runs a the world famous Goodwood Festival Of Speed. The electric cars surely weighed more than their noisy ICE counterparts. It still was no contest. Look at the Gas Powered Porsche compared to the electric one for a good comparison.

Do you think we attend HPDE track days to set records? Try do to 7x 20-30min sessions in a day with a Tesla and come back to the discussion.

Possibly.

Doesn't have the typical camouflage on it so coud just as likely be a WIP especially if they plan on using an existing chassis/body design like they were for the 1er hybrid that never came to fruition. I would assume that the final EV wouldn't have exhaust cutouts or open grilles.

You should that’s my plan. Something great, sounding, tons of feel and 3 pedals. EV for daily/around town stuff.
