Sales will be great! Why is that always the defense? First, we have to see if
that comes to fruition. BMW's latest quarterly results were horrible. Second, this is a BMW forum and users are entitled to their opinions.

As far as this new X3 goes, I think both the interior and exterior are horrific. Major miss IMO.

I agree and wonder if the X3 always been a BMW best seller since introduction, or did it vary by platform ?

The original X3 platform was a poor effort.

Best seller currently, but I think it always verified by platform

I owned a Gen 1 X3 3.0si and thought at the time it was one of the very best in its segment

You know, I have a feeling that if there are a lot of people thumb down on this SUV,then BMW has to give discount. Then I will consider to buy if the price is right.

(except the silly tire and rim choice, my bad not realizing staggered summer performance tires, placed my order for Pilot 4 A/S for) another bonus of getting m40i is that nobody can say is it new body or old body since there is no m40i anymore and m50 is a gimmick on X3.

This new x3 is nothing like X3 which has always been a mini x5. Now it's something odd. Front, back, inside.. It looks bloated, yet too light in looks. Side profile looks incomplete. Interior feels like a Kia/Hyundai. I hope it drives better than it looks. Is there any possibility it drives better than outgoing m40i with this body shape?

This is what we did for the wife also. I looked at early renderings, and told wife we would be better off with outgoing X3 model that has been a pretty proven and reliable platform. So we got her a fully loaded X3M40i in BGM with the black 21s to match my BGM M2.

My recommendation is to lease the car that way you never end up being stuck with the car actually owning you.

Shop long and hard and put as little out-of-pocket as necessary watch for deals and strike when the moment is right.

Yeah, it was odd looking at the time, but there was a lot of other uglier cars without question.

But the only real competitor at the time in my opinion was the Acura RDX Technology with super handling all-wheel-drive.

It’s coming back. It’s not dead. It’s just there’s a dead period before they re-release it as a new model.

Yeah you don’t need to repeat it, mate. Thankfully I read and comprehend well before responding.

A) I am talking about sales not design, and customer needs to open the wallet. Every single thing you and I buy is marked up, that’s how businesses work.

I’ll leave at this to watch on how pricing and discounting has worked for decades.

B) It will sell well like I said for the reasons I mentioned, not contesting that. Roundel is all you need.

I like the look of the black one shown. Both the exterior and interior on the black look good to me. I also like some of the improvements BMW put to the driving. That Boost feature is a nice trick. The increased torque also helps. I could see this replacing my MY22 if I were in the market in a couple of years.

Business school does not cover design and regardless the numbers are high. It’s clear these things sell without question people are afraid of change and designs have to go in different directions. It doesn’t mean it has to appeal to everybody.

New to BMW but after looking at all of the pictures and reading the early reviews, very glad to pick up one of the last X3M Comps in my area.

Once the early buyers post on the forum, for sure they will defend the interior. Hey I thought the G87 M2 was horrendous at first in pictures, now it looks great (no I did not just pound a bunch of beer)

Maybe it will age better as we get used to the look and design.

Rumors are that the gas-powered X3M is dead. The next iteration is rumored be electric and based on the Neue Klasse platform:

https://www.thedrive.com/news/the-bm...led-off-report

This would align with the rest of the segment, as nearly all of the X3Ms competitors are either done completely (Stelvio Quadrifoglio, F-Pace SVR) or moving to electric/hybrid (Macan GTS, GLC63).

Here’s what I’m referring to.

This piece is very flimsy. The whole piece moves when you’re trying to lock/unlock, set your seats or open/close the vents. Just feels cheap.

The second and third pictures, while not a big deal, would bother some. Seems like the fitment isn’t the best.

Nice! Looks just like mine except I got the all black 20 inch wheels with summer non-RFT.

God, that is awful. I have better quality in my work car which is a old bodystyle Grand Cherokee.

Just don’t clean or rub your fingers in the printed elements on that nasty plastic door mounted control.

your complaints are identical to my experience w a 5 series loaner... the window switches were out of a corolla at best

Take it easy and get used to those screen and touch panels... like stick shift, time to move on.
