Wow, nice bikes in here. Here's mine, a '08 Kawasaki z1000. Only mod to speak of is the Two Brothers pipes.

Jackalope,

How do you like the 848? I've been drooling over it for a while now. Starting to look for a used 08 thats nice and broken in.

It's a great mid-size bike. I didn't see the need for a liter bike, and there is no way I'll be able to out ride the 848. It takes the curves like a champ and is really quick. Really lightweight and easy to control. I've gone on long rides and i've used it to commute as well, very good all around. Lots of fun on the track too!

I've got the exact same bike with the same exhaust (minus the inserts). It's my favorite bike by far; totally versatile with a great powerband. If you haven't added them yet...I'd suggest adding the PCIII along with a BMC filter. Those two items added to the Two Bros exhaust will give you a noticeable boost in torque on the bottom-end.

Powertrip, honestly, I cant imagine having more torque. I have to be REALLY careful as it is now not to lift the front - even in 2nd gear. Its plenty fast for me.

About the PCIII though, can it fix the on/off issue with the throttle when slowly cracking it open? I find that kind of annoying. The dealer told me it is normal on these FI bikes, but my other FI bikes were never like this! Otherwise, I LOVE this bike - totally agree with your impression.

Tell me about the BMC filter, is it oil-based?

I cant believe you run your bike without the inserts. It is WAY too loud for me- I'd get off the bike with badly ringing ears. I installed the inserts and you can just barely see them in the pics, but there are the screen inserts in there too. The sound with these two mods is to die for - my favorite part of the bike. Sort of deep and Ducati-like in tone, but less harsh.

I really should post newer pics. I added the ermax hugger and oberon bar end mirrors with custom end weights (had them machined down).. some decals.. looks a lot better now. I had the ermax undertail kit, but didn't like it.

Post a pic of your bike!

Nuge, thanks!

You wanna read about the most bad-ass bike rider in the country? How many know what flat-track racing is?

Check out Bob Harris' story. Go backward through the links to read about his car racing history in the sixties.

Bob's 84 years old in this picture.

The PCIII will fix the some of the abrupt on/off behavior of the FI. It made it a lot smoother, but also increased fuel consumption due to running much richer. It also smoothes out the lean spots in the factory tune making the power fill a lot more "electric" like. As for the BMC filter, it is an oiled filter that is shaped exaclty like the factory filter (as opposed to K&N's pathetic attempt). Believe it or not, you'll also notice a nice power increase with just the addition of a filter. Let me see if I can round up some pictures.

Holy Crap. That is amazing, I hope not to be in a wheel chair or an old folks home when I am 84 let alone still riding...

I like this thread!

Now this is a thread that I like...

Many people DO NOT understand how it feels to have a bike...
To me, happiness on bikes is always in the next corner, ANY CORNER....

I have the following bikes:
2007 R1200 GS Adventure
2007 GSXR 750

Both offer different experiences.... and I love them BOTH...

Don't have a handy pic to post of the 300, but it looks a lot like my 450 XC I recently sold, only w/ a 2 stroke exhaust.
