No, the XK and the XJ are Aluminium. The XF is a rebodied S Type.

The people who have the veyrons, the slr mclarens, simply don't waste time posting on these sorts of message boards.

We do have a family friend who has a veyron, but I don't understand how that's relevant to what I said.

I mean let's be real here, you said in another post "my friend who is 16 years old..."

people with veyrons don't have 20-25 year old friends. teenagers/young 20s individuals have 20-25 year old friends.

People with veyrons/slr mclarens, any type of supercar are older and don't post "LOL!!!" on message boards.

Don't take this the wrong way I don't mean to offend, but someone with $1 million in cars just does -not- post on message boards like this.

And in the .01% chance they do, they DEFINITELY don't advertise their million dollar collection in their signature, it's far too tacky/tasteless.

They are almost always very discreet.

+1
people who are really truly successful, dont rub it into others that they are successful. they prefer to be in the background most of the time, its how they got to be that successful. but hey, nothing wrong with showing off, i think its just a stage that most people have to go through before they either become successful or realize that there is no need or have nothing to show off.

as for feeding the troll, i'm all for it haha.
anyone with a logical brain will not get tied down like a fanboy to any one brand as many others have mentioned.
a lot of it has to do with personal taste. i wont even begin to mention some of the discrepancies in what has been mentioned, as most of them have already been brought up.

ps. i wonder what happens to trolls if we feed them too much... i v watched this thread for a while now. it would definetely be very interesting to see if he posts back

Over the years I have driven a 1954 XK120 a 1959 Mark IX, a 2003 XJ Sport, a 2004 XK8 convertible and a 2007 XKR coupe. How many Jaguars have you owned?

As an aside I am an older (than many here at least) person who posts to internet forum and although I don't have any friends with Veyrons I have several friends a with Ferraris inclucing one who owns two Enzos and another who has a collection of several classic Ferraris. As far as I know neither of them post to Internet forums.

P.S. The 1954 and the 1959 Jags were not purchased new. I am not THAT old (and I can't afford even one Enzo or a collection of Classic Ferraris)

ACCURATE FACTS: The Aston DB7 looked nothing like an XJS. Both the DB7 and Jag XK8 were built on the XJS platform. The styling borowed a lot more from the Classic E-Type than it did from the XJS.

I was referring to the XKR with the older engine. The new model has the 500 HP engine. These Nordlische times are moot anyway since there it is very unlikely that there is anyone on this forum with the skills to even come close to those times. All of these cars (M3, M5, XKR, XKR) have limits that are way to high to be approached on public roads by anyone who does not have a death wish. Another thing that is never taken into consideration in these discussions is how easy (or difficult) it is to drive these cars at the limit. There are cars out there that can show very good lap times in the hands of a professional but are a real handful for most drivers.

I'm surprised the thread is still open! To be clear about my earlier post, I watched that XFR vs. M5 Top Gear video and was very impressed by the XFR. It looks awesome. At the end of the video, they reveal that the XFR finished slightly behind the E60 M5 when the Stig drove it around their track. That made me want to look up the times to see where the E90 M3 fell on the list.

I have to say, I was extremely surprised the E90 M3 got a better time around the TG track than the E60 M5 (although the E46 CSL beating the M5 isn't a surprise). Still, it's hard to compare because those times are so variable, since they don't bother waiting for good weather.

1. It's ugly, IMO.
2. The M5 is N/A, the V10 sounds nicer, and is still better according to Clarkson.
3. We all know that a BMW will always feel like more of a driver's car than a Jag.
4. Throw a supercharger on an M5 and it will kill the XFR.
5. Of course it will beat an M3... that's a stupid comparison. But once again, throw a supercharger on an M3 and it will destroy the XFR.
6. BMW FTW.

In that case, why are you here? Also, there's no way a Jag is better than your 911 Turbo if that's really what you drive.
