As a golf professional, I can tell you that a pro golfer on the PGA Tour would be a pretty solid choice considering money, lifestyle, etc.
But as an athlete I would want to be a professional beach volleyball player. Aside from the money being very poor, that lifestyle is incredible. Hanging out at a different beach atmosphere every week with chicks in bikinis running around watching you play all day long. You have to be in ridiculous shape and very athletic as well. That's what I'd do! |

And to the OP, I'd be an F1 driver. I can't think of another sport with worldwide acclaim while having the glamour, money, women, and fame. |

Side question for those people: would you want to ride the pine and just collect duckets or actually play?
For me i want to be in the starting lineup scoring goals for Man U..i want glory, not just money, fame, women. |

I'd give my nut to play in Barca, ManU or Real. Other than soccer probably WRC. Those guys don't get the respect they deserve. Driving 100+ mph on loose gravel is no joke.

It's very hard to drive an F1 car because you have to be able to go fast in order for the tires and brakes to work. If you're not able to keep up a very quick pace then you'll have no grip or stopping power and will crash. It's not easy. |

In the turbo age, F1 cars were making over 1500bhp in qualifying trim. But still, 750-800bhp is a shit ton of power for anyone. |

MOTOGP bikes have more power to weight ratio than F1 cars. I find MOTOGP to take more skill and balls than F1 simply because of how much precision it takes to ride a 250 hp machine in between your legs and weights just 400 pounds for 45 minutes straight lap after lap. Not an easy task at all. There is proffesional motorsports then you have MOTOGP. Is F1 more famous than MOTOGP? Yes, but when it comes down to plain skill, MOTOGP hands down.
valentino Rossi, arguably the best motorcycle of all time, drove in a ferrari F1 car and was 1 second off schumachers time. Only after a test or two. Last edited by Razzy; 11-03-2010 at 07:41 PM.. |

You kidding me man? He was a couple seconds off Badoer's time, which in itself is about 4 seconds off the rest of the field's time. Rossi wouldn't stand a chance in F1.

and so were others. Rossi was not the only one. It may be the fastest car but thats the unlimited. A limited F2004 and an unlimited is a huge difference. If he were on a unlimited one than I would understand that it is not a accurate comparison.

If you look at your link you'll see that his name is the one that doesn't have a star by it, as well as Alex Wurz. That means they were not driving 2006 cars, while everybody else was. Which means he had an advantage. And in 2006 the gripe from all the other teams against the teams which kept using limited V10s was that they had loads more torque, which gave them an advantage in stop and start tracks, like Monaco and Valencia. So it was not a level playing field and everything is skewed in Valentino's favor. I'm not saying he isn't extremely talented when it comes to motorsport, but Rossi's times are not valid in any way, shape, or form in sizing him up against F1 drivers.
