I find that most minorities in atlanta suck ass in driving no offense man but if you are making a left hand turn from the far right lane on a busy street you cannot drive! This happens all the time down here! but the biggest thing is people running redlights!!!! the state of georgia makes so much money off the photo enforced lights because people dont care.
The reason most people are bad drivers is the fact that: 1) they dont understand nor respect the vehicle they are driving 2) they dont understand the concepts of offensive and defensive driving 3) they dont devote any attention to driving 4) they arent aware of their surroundings 5) they are trying to multi task while driving 6) etc.. the list goes on! All in all it doesnt matter who you are. To be a bad driver is mostly due to not paying attention behind the wheel or to driving over your head or even lack of experience. I believe everyone should spend some time on a race track before they hit the streets. I grew up on one and I recommend thats where people should get their START! |

of course you are most likely to learn to drive from your parents who are most likely to be of the same race as you, hence if bad asian (or whatever race) driver teaches wrong, it just leads to another bad asian (or whatever race) driver. nothign directly to do with one's race. on the other hand, i found the whole new immigrant drivers thing very interesting. it makes sense i guess. though i can't be sure since i've never been to china. lol. |

When i was in Chicago visiting a friend, I held on to the oh shit bars the whole time. Man she honked and swerved at almost everyone!! I was like umm relax dude, it's all good, we have time. The funny part is that when she changed lanes to pass 'em it'll take forever because she has a hyundai accent. LMAO!!!
Another time when I was living in LA, I witnessed a SLK slam into the rear of a another MB at a red light. I guess she didn't realize all the cars were stopped. She hit the MB so hard that the MB hit the car in front and that car hit the car in front of them. When my ex was driving and on the phone, she'd go so slow that big rigs would start to pass us! I got so frustrated and upset that from that day forward, i did all the driving! |

well from where i come from (korea), there are good amount of BAD drivers...
can't say that i am one of them but i dont think its upto me to make that judgement, its upto other drivers who have been in the car with me driving. i think its common though in asian countries because of high density of car population in major cities...which leads to cutting/swerving into lanes when they get the chance.

Im half asian, but my opinion, asian drivers are one of the worst drivers here in Australia....!!! Get them to retake their practical driving tests rather than allow them to just swap over their international licence to an aussie licence!! The rules here are different people!!!!!!

1. anyone from jersey driving in Manhattan (you have absolutely no skills on these streets. either pick up the pace and act quickly, or move over to the side. keep your car on that side of the river, and take NJ transit) 2. immigrants driving trucks/vans in Manhattan (basically no regard for traffic rules) 3. cab/livery drivers in Manhattan (will force themselves into your lane knowing that you dont want your beautiful work of art scratched up by their POS, so you give way to them) 4. Women (soccer moms on Long Island take the cake, and probably eat it too given the obesity rate in the suburbs) 5. Men with absurd, oversized SUV's (these guys are definitely compensating for something. they drive like they own the road, but they still suck at driving) 6. men driving pick up trucks. the ones with mud all over, and a confederate flag in the back, or a bumper sticker saying "my kid can kick your kid's ass!" These guys just have no regard for anyone else on the road. 7. Old people (only because i have seen them put themselves, other people, including myself, in danger countless times) man i could go on and on with this list.

I think people who see driving as just "getting from point A to point B" are bad drivers in general, after all, they just worry about getting to another spot as fast as possible and would do whatever it takes to get there. It may be why alot of asians are bad/rude drivers... because they often don't really care how they are viewed by other people. One thing I absolutely can't stand are people who stick their hands out while driving, especially during stops when someone stick out their hand with a cig and the stuff that falls off gets blown all over your car... I do remember an episode of top gear when the gang visits the u.s... I clearly remember jeremy complain about how there is no aggression in american driving. xP Last edited by anbuotaku; 07-02-2007 at 04:26 AM.. |
