I'm glad they taste better than they look. A Baboon comes to mind.

I came to Chicago with my 6D, SL1, and G7x, plus a bunch of lenses. Everything is still in my bags except for my G7x. This little beast is so easy to carry and can produce some pretty sweet images. Nothing I'd care to print large for a wall, but decent enough for 8x10 or web posting.

That's how I feel about my Fuji. Mark. I had all my Canon gear at Yosemite, but my Fuji took 98% of my shots. I can easily print 19X13 which is the largest my printer can go, but actually I'm sure I can go even larger with the APS-C files from it.

Some almost 30k shots later and 8 years I think I may have printed up less than 6 -4x6's .
Maybe I'm a taker not a keeper.

Are your wall full? Printing is another phase to photography that can complete the loop. How about showing your personality to those that visit your home?

I was interested to learn that the hens select the Toms and come to them to mate. Hence, all the strutting and makeup are key to being "the guy."

Dave,
The walls are pretty much empty and only have one piece of art purchased in Canada on them. I keep looking at the Canon bundles they have with the bodies but realize that I have so few real stunners, most are very good snaps. I should just do a book instead, they are book worthy. As for the turkeys, I guess ugly gets the girl. We have lots of them and I do fairly despise them. When they are crossing the road, I won't speed up but I don't hit the brakes either. They see me and really start to run. Never hit one and won't intentionally do that but they need to learn not to sit in the road like the deer. Now Ed's elk can sit in the road all they want and especially around sunset.

Kevin, think about putting some stuff on your walls, whether you print yourself, or not.

The only thing I've seen that I'd want on my walls is either West Coast Native art or Peter Lik. Neither will happen unless some sort of lottery is won.
What we have been considering is just about doubling the size of our house, if we do that I'll have some very nice lighting on my blank canvas walls. So I will take your advice to heart Dave.

Interesting story here. I went shooting turkey with a leading wildlife photographer (5 Field & Stream .covers in the last year). We put out decoys and he made calls after he already knew the likely path they would take to their night roost. In this scene are two decoys. One is a hen in a submissive position ready to mate and the other is a Jake (juvenile male) looking ready to mate. After fighting all winter to set the pecking order, the long-beard Toms aren't about to let a young buck into the game, so they push and peck at the Jake to get him out of the way. Look at the crowd that showed up:

"Hey honey why are you so cold and unfeeling? " Nice that you got to go out with him and learn a few tricks of the trade.

He told me that he watched a Tom try to mate with the decoy for over an hour. It's hard to imagine how sore his pecker must have been.

Thanks, DC.
Turkeys aren't known for being overly bright. Imagine his disappointment and what he told the other Toms afterward.

Great shot Mark, love the light and perspective. There is a very, very slight intrusion lower right hand edge, which once spotted keeps dragging the eye, I'd be tempted to crop or otherwise remove it.
