So 4 weeks left before my beach trip. I've been doing like JP10 suggested and focusing more on the mirror this year and not so much as bodyweight.

Left side was this morning at 193lbs, Right side was when I started....I think I was around 204lbs if I remember correctly. That was me feeling on being at the fringes of getting "fluffy". So roughly 10 lbs in 7 weeks or so, and I haven't been killing myself. In fact I think I may add a few calories back in...or at least increase my refeed days as I'm going flat pretty quickly through the week.

But I thought it was a cool comparison.

Edit....this was a shoulder day. Also...you can see the striations in the Pecs I was talking about earlier starting to come in.

That's what you want!!!

I spent most of the last 2 years increasing calories in the off-season to where my body would tolerate it. I was almost at 4K this past time.

During this diet, I haven't had to drop below 3100 calories yet...and I think I may add some back to it because as I get leaner...I start dropping quicker and quicker. I think I will add about 300-400 a day back in and see if I can maintain my current weight for about 2 weeks...then drop them back down for the last 2 weeks before we leave.

The last 3 days before vacation...I always deplete carbs like I'm doing a competition. That way when we get there...I can pretty much eat anything and everything all day long, and my body just starts filling out and looks better day by day. It usually takes about a week of doing that before I reach a "spilling over" point...and then the water weight starts to blur things!

So now what 4500? Point is to be growing. Not having to eat like a welfare recipient and still lose weight!

Even just 200 calories extra a day can be enough to tip the scales back the other way again. You don't have to make a huge change.

You know the old saying.......if it was easy everyone would look like that.

I can relate. Back at my heaviest, it was like all I did was eat, think about eating, making food to eat, planning food to eat. It sucks.

But it proves your metabolism is kicking into top gear. It's like throwing wood on a fire.

That was a big factor in me dropping 20-25lbs and staying at that weight vs. the constant work it took me to hold onto that extra weight.

Yeah gonna hold at 3800 another week and see. Made break from trainer he gave me some good tips and such but also wasnt reliable or nearly as helpful as had hoped. I feel more screwed up than before. I'm programming myself and have been chasing pump for a while thinking of heading back into overload territory and backing off all the feel movements.

Just go back in slowly and test the waters. You've been on this current program awhile, so I'm sure all the little nagging injuries we get when training like we do have to have healed some.

And with the elevated calories you're at, your body is primed for adding muscle tissue and strength.

Just don't do like I used to and jump back into the deep end trying to set personal records.....I would do that and end up aggrevating an old injury.

Let your body dictate how to progress. You're experienced enough to know when to push....and when to hold back for another day!

Thanks! I love being in the spot you're in now. It's like the perfect mix as your body is putting those calories to work.

When I start feeling bloated when I wake up....that's my sign to cut back a little.

Early workout boys! Smashing legs/abs! Since being on CLA for the first time this week I notice my stomach is really leaning down as well as the separation on my shoulders

Yeah I'm gonna go slow, can barely squat. Old age and stuff. I was holding extra water for whatever reason, edema on lower legs and that has pealed off hence the weight loss I think. Not gonna change diet yet.

Had good leg day. Combined extensions and walking lunges was killer. Heavy leg press then some slow low reps on squat with 275 felt okay!

Calves are pretty stubborn to grow. Just keep hitting them and they'll eventually grow and grow. I can't stand guys who have never train calves have the biggest calves...WTF!
