not to be a asshole, but if you wanna get into stocks, you should pretty much start reading about it and learn something. plus i don't think that's enough money to start a account

it's really too small of an amount to trade equities with. Typical commission would be somewhere around $7/trade so commission to buy/sell would be $14. Even if you put everything into one stock, it would need to move almost 3% just to break even (14/500).

Personally I would just take the money and throw it at options. There's a good chance of going bust, but honestly with $500-1000 you aren't going to make any money with a buy/hold strategy either.

you need to read, study, pay your tuition or entrance fees, ready/study some more, pay more tuition, and then maybe, just maybe, you can turn a profit...that is the harsh reality of this business/game. with 1k of starting capital, id invest half of that into good study materials...and keep saving

Book profits if you make good money. We should see some volatility this week. Good money can be made on these days where we see high volatility if you can get in and out at the right time. I reckon we see further losses before rebounding again though I think the overall trend is up.

Whew, got out of SLV earlier today. Think it was a good time. It's had a good run.

I believe we will see more losses before we see a rebound. Remember that it was down just over 14% at one time during futures. We should see around 6% losses from here at minimum. I could be wrong but I would not go all in now. I'm in with puts now.

SLV looks good to invest in and hold until reboudn but your saying there might be more drop?

Hmm... ride the inverse silver train? ZSL - double inverse silver ETF. Tempting, but probably not my cup of tea. Volume is through the roof right now though.

If you don't want to trade with options and ae sure Silver will drop then ZSL is quite good. My Puts are doing excellent today

Yeah still not comfortable with options yet. Just long trading right now. I'm hesitant with ZSL - don't want to chase the train. I might see what the Asian market does tomorrow before any commitment.

I sold all my SLV puts before closing for a nice profit today. The last hour to 1.5 hrs. of trade is usually the best time to get in for a trade.

I expect SLV to go up two to three percent tomorrow.

for the first time in a very long time, I only have long term positions open with no plans in the near future to open any short term. It is amazing how relaxed and clear minded I am. Never realized how much day trading effected me until now.

Let's see what happens. If I enter I will buy some weekly puts.

The gains from earlier on in Asia were all erased and more losses were added.

Definitely not good for the heart or mind. Stressful for sure. New York's Market closes about 4:00 am my time here in Taiwan. It takes me about another 1 to 1.5 hrs. to unwind after before I can fall asleep.
